Looks like he actually took part in practice

Porter & Singleton both participated in some contact drills. Witt said OP looked like he missed 3 months; CS in better shape #wizards

That's not practicing; that's taking a jump shot. 80 year old Aunt Mollie from Des Moines can do that.

Though she's probably not inclined to. Too cold to walk to the gym or shoot hoops outside.

In 2 to 3 weeks, he'll be able to beat Aunt Mollie in horse.

Wizards’ Otto Porter, Chris Singleton practice for first time; Trevor Ariza returns

Coach Randy Wittman knew that Otto Porter Jr. was doing more basketball related stuff, but he wasn’t certain when the No. 3 overall pick would actually step on the court to practice. On Monday, Wittman got his answer when the Wizards training staff informed him that Porter was ready to go.

“I was pleasantly surprised that it was today,” Wittman said.

Porter, the former All-American from Georgetown, has been sidelined with a strained right hip flexor since slipping during a pickup game on Sept. 14. He missed all of training camp and the preseason and his absence caused a panic among fans of the Wizards and Hoyas. The 6-foot-9 Porter understood those frustrations but he had to be patient with his recovery.

“One of your players go down hurt, you want to know how he’s doing day-to-day. It’s a lot of work you’ve got to put into it,” Porter said. “It was frustrating at times, where I felt like I was getting ready to go over that hump and something else kind of knocked me back down.”

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Looking at how its been put, sounds like if all is well we can expect a debut between December 10th and 15th?

Really glad to see him practicing, but it'll take some time for him to be ready to play. Any timetable predictions for his debut?

Looking at the schedule, there's a lot of open time during December for Porter to ease his way back in. The games are spread pretty thin. The team only plays 11 games next month which should allow Porter to practice with the team and start to get his legs back without throwing him into games.

Optimistically, maybe he gets a home debut against the Clippers mid-month?

This is great to hear, we could really use him with Harrington looking like he will be out for an extended amount of time. It also looks like we'll be getting Ariza back tomorrow which will be great for our defense.

Didn't see any specific projections but I'd definitely wait until this 4-games-in-5-night stretch is done, especially now that Ariza's back. Lots of bad teams on the schedule for December, so I'd pick one of those. Preferably at home.

If that's Grandmama's sister, Molly, I wouldn't talk too much trash here.

It's 3 months since he got the injury. From what I've read, recovery time is usually about a week - with severe cases sometimes lasting up to 2 months. He's still not even practicing - according to Wittman.

He probably would have been back by now if he didn't pull his hamstring, probably from overexerting himself from the bad hip.

The team definitely needs him, bring Ariza back, and you can at least put those two on the floor and have some offense.

I hadn't heard that he pulled a hammy. Did anyone from the Wizards announce that?

Yeah. That's why he stopped playing in preseason after I think his send game.

I'd expect something sooner like December 6th. Our game before that is on the 2nd, also at home. That gives him 3 fulls days of practice in between those games and is 12 days from today which was his first practice. The schedule is strange. Two straight weeks of games on Monday then Friday.

Welcome back Otto. Now all we need is for him to develop into the next MJ.

Let's shoot for the next AK47 . . . MJ was here once and look how that turned out.

They have the 21st until the 27th off.

Not sure if that plays into things here. Hard to imagine he is all caught up on things in just 2 weeks.
