Derrick Rose

Post#1 » by Avp115 » Mon Nov 25, 2013 5:00 pm

I know it's been brought up already but I really think we should gauge the Bulls' interest in trading D-Rose. If there's anyway they'll take a combination of Bledsoe or Dragic with two first rounders in 2014 (we'd keep our top pick, obviously, but they could have the two later firsts which are still very valuable in a deep draft) then I say it's a must. Yes, I know our PT Staff doesn't actually have healing powers (well, at least I'm pretty sure), but their track record is impressive and could do wonders for Rose. Meanwhile, it solidifies a shot at Parker, Wiggins, or Randle without having to tank in-game by benching players (which McD criticized of last year's team). Imagine.

2015-2016
PG - Rose
SG - Goodwin
SF - Wiggins
PF - 2016 Draft or FA
C - Len

I wouldn't touch DRose with a ten foot pole right now, especially a pole with one of Dragic/Bledsoe and draft picks attached to it. We have the best trainers in the business but Rose's career is a big gamble right now. I may be more pessimistic on him than average but at this point I feel like he has a chance at going the way of Brandon Roy, just as much as he has a chance at a long career of greatness. I don't think you could tempt me even if we could give significantly less. Rose is guaranteed $78 million through 2016-17 which is arguably the worst contract in the league right now.

Rose = Gilbert Arenas without attitude issues. No, thanks.

Rose playing on a uptempo team where he doesn't to put so much effort defensively may not be that bad.

Rose injured his right meniscus because he was most likely compensating on it because of his lack of confidence in his left knee...

Give him a good year off and he should be OK.

By then his left knee would be 2 years recovered and his right meniscus would be also fine.

He needs to lose weight though... He has built up a jacked upper body lately... If he can lose mass and with Suns free flowing uptempo style and medical team I think he can be continue his career in Phoenix.

We have the technology!

Bledsoe, Rose and Goodwin PG/SG rotation would be best in the league.

I would not trade Goran Dragic or Eric Bledsoe for Derrick Rose right now. I am sorry, but his career is in jeopardy.

I also don't think the Bulls front office has the balls to do this.

He was their #1 draft pick, hometown kid, allstar, league MVP. There has to be SOME loyalty there.

That said, I AM rooting for him to make a full recovery. I think it's possible, he's still very young, younger than Gilbert, than Penny.

But I wouldn't take the chance with the Suns in as good a position moving forward as our GM has put us in. Nope.

Our pic drafted Deng. Remember that? What a horrible trade that was!

As for D rose, as others have said, his career really is in jeopardy. The ACL injury is still a career killer. Even those that return to play after and ACL rarely return to the level they were previously on. Why? Because even a 10% reduction in a players confidence, quickness, or strength is visible on the NBA stage where 1% can make the difference in being a champion and "just making the playoffs."

Additionaly, D Rose is not going to play until next year. By that time we may have 4 (four) #1 draft picks and one or two big name free agents on our roster. You still want D Rose if Andrew Wigging/Parker/Randle are ready to line up with Kevin Love and our promising young core of Dragic/Bledsoe/Plumlee/Goodwin?

Very sad, and no - wouldn't go near Rose.

He's gone down the KJ, Penny, Roy path - sucks for him and the Bulls, he's such a likeable guy and he plays HARD without the ego too.

I do think we could become trade partners with CHI though - Dragic would be ideal this year for them, also going forward when Rose is back he'd be perfect 6th man for them. Not sold on Deng - do we want him at what he's going to demand, like $12m + ? I don't...I'd rather have Butler as a cheaper glue guy with upside still...

I could see SAC dangling IThomas, Fredette and Hayes for Deng...Maybe even Thornton...So they could roll out Thomas/Thornton/Butler/Boozer/Noah with a Hinrich, Gibson, Hayes, Fredette, Dunleavy bench...Not too bad at all.

^ Thomas has been awesome for the Kings, vastly ouplaying Vasquez who has had a hard time adjusting to that team. I would expect him to be included over Thomas - better for all parties.

Totally agree Thomas has outplayed him - but IT seems a better defensive fit to Thibs' team, and for some reason they keep starting general Greivis...
