I think people are being a bit delusional to think we'll get any first rounder for Deng. The most we can probably hope for is a couple of 2nd rounders, or a protected future 1st rounder, which I would have no hesitation to do. I would play Teague, Snell, and Murphy as much as possible for the remainder of the year.

Or maybe your being a bit delusional to think we should just bend over and let other teams rape us for a 2x all star. OKC got a 1st round pick for a player that at the time was not even better than Deng so why should we just settle for less. If we trade Deng you should be getting a 1st rounder this year along with a young guy or an unwanted contract.

The question of picks is getting too heated in my opinion - especially since it is a battle of opinions, nothing more.

And, frankly, I think the answer is in between. I could see a contending team that thinks Deng might "put them over the top" trading salary and a late first (in the 20s) even in next year's draft for Deng. It really would depend on the team and their needs and management, though - for instance I couldn't really see Houston making the move even though they have the need, because of Morey.

But a lottery pick in this particular draft is likely much too much to give up for a potential late-season / playoff rental.

You have a couple teams desperate to get into the playoffs and those teams are more than willing to give up a 1st rounder this year. I think we undervalue Deng severely if we think he cannot snatch us a pick.
