Folks are calling for Temple to play PG because Maynor has been terrible. Unfortunately, Temple has been even worse so far. Also unfortunately, Maynor's performance works out to about the same level of performance he's provided throughout his NBA career. He was fun to watch in college, but he's a bad NBA player no matter what role his team might want him to play.

The real unfortunate part of all this is that a) the Wizards have two replacement level (or worse) guards in Temple and Maynor, and b) they thought those players were better than they are.

Nivek, at least Temple is an NBA caliber athlete and competent defender. Maynor looks so SLOW out there. Whichever option will result in a disasterous offense. I just think Temple's better defense should allow him to get the PT.

Hands these guys are calling for Temple to run point. Who cant shoot, cant score and cant pass. And they act like they know anything about basketball.

All they need is Maynor to be the steady hand to spell Wall for 12 to 15 minutes. Which he has.

Stop the bs, troll. Maynor was getting minutes with Webster and Harrington, who stunk it up when Maynor was running the offense.

And just to inform you, Maynor can't shoot, score, nor pass either. He's a d-league scrub at this point. The only thing steady with Maynor is his propensity to suck.

You reek of GMU alum. To bad Maynor has one of the best 3 point percentage and TO ratio on the team.

Yes. Temple is embarrassingly bad on offense, but at least he's a low usage, unselfish player. His usage rate is so low that he's merely a zero on offense rather than an actual negative. And at the other end of the floor, he's a legitimately good defender. If he is surrounded with enough offensive talent, he can help a team, or at least not hurt them. This is borne out by his on/off data. 82games.com has him at +15.0 per 100 possessions.

Maynor sucks on offense and defense. And with his higher usage rate, his offensive suckitude hurts the team more. 82games.com has his on/off rating as -20.0 points per 100 possessions.

Admittedly, sample size is real low on those on/off numbers.

GMU? Is that George Mason University? So they must be VCU's arch-rival, right? And you went to VCU, right? And that's why you can plainly see how good Maynor is, right? Therefore, anyone that disagrees with you went to GMU. Ipso whack-o poo poo head.

Maynor's numbers have always been skewed by the sucky benches he's played with. How the eff can you make Harden look like a playa?

As bad as Maynor has been, so far this season he's better than Temple.

If you want to argue that Temple might provide better production than Maynor in the future -- I could go along with that. But, keep in mind that last season was the best of Temple's career, and it was only marginally better than what Maynor has produced so far this season (PPA of 60 for Temple last season vs. Maynor's 50 so far this season).

This is classic deck chair on the Titanic stuff. Both these guys are scrubs. Neither guy gives the Wizards any kind of advantage over the other.

Nice try dork. I went to College Park, and I could give a rats ass about the ODUs, VCUs, and GMs of the world.

I guess it really hurts to know your boy sucks at everything.

Yet he was their #1 priority in FA, locking him up early, overpaying, and giving him an extra year.

Sorry, had to say it again
