I would've been ok with it if Rose wasn't hurt and we could contend but now is the time to move on. I think we should still look to trade him for some young players and see what happens during the offseason.

Laker fan. I come in peace. Would you consider a Pau Gasol trade? If so do you think we could do a Gasol for Deng and filler (maybe Gibson)?

We would have done that deal before a Rose injury, not sure about now. I may vouch to do it still and then we could amnesty Boozer at season's end and have a Rose, Butler, Dunleavy, Gasol and Noah lineup next season.

Nope. Were looking to get a bit younger and we need some draft picks. Gasol is too old and we have no use for him since we have Boozer who pretty much gives us the same production Gasol gives you guys.

That is a scary core. Gasol would also clean up Noah having to have the ball on offense and let him be the natural defender/rebounder that he is. The heat would do everything to veto this trade.

I disagree. A lineup of Gasol and Noah in the frontcourt would give Miami many problems.

No, we wouldn't have done that before a Rose injury.

myersia - welcome, fyi there is a trade thread sticky and there have been tons of Gasol trade posts but it wasn't happening before and it sure as heck isn't happening now. There has been a lot of interest in Gasol in the past decade but that ship sailed a few moons ago.

Rebounding wise yes but we would still have the same problem which is getting inside scoring from someone but Rose. Gasol just isn't going to fix that. He only brings slightly better defense than Boozer.

What do folks think of Tyreke straight up for Deng? If New Orleans offered us Gordon or Tyreke straight up for Deng, Do we do it?

I would trade for Tyreke. He wood be a good SG to go next yo rosé on a good deal.

It's one of the few Deng deals I'd like to do. I'm a little hesitant on Gordon due to injuries, lack of size and higher salary than tyreke.

I wouldn't. One, he's not expiring, nor near it, and two, he's a PG. He literally does not know how to play without the ball. The one thing he does exceptionally well, which is get inside the lane, he doesn't stick to. And his jumpshooting doesn't scream out to me.

Deng to Washington who desperately wants to make the playoffs.
Washington sends back Chris Singleton, Trevor Ariza, Kevin Seraphin and their 1st rd pick.

I'd do that, or check with Cleveland and do a Bynum + 1st round pick for Deng deal. Even next year's draft will be good with Okafor, so I'm not totally opposed to getting a draft pick next year in the high lottery.

Yea even if they only want to give up a 2015 pick thats fine. I also think Washington is the type of team that would keep Deng long term, I almost want to ask for Ariza and Otto Porter, but I dont think they'd bite.

They traded it to Phoenix for Gortat just a month ago ( it is top 12 protected this year, top 10 through 2019, and unprotected in 2020 ). So they have no #1 draft pick to trade until this deal is over.

Ugh, no. There needs to be future salary going out. A three way where you get an expiring and Tyreke for Boozer would be interesting. The Hornets would want something like a 2/3 who isn't on a terrible deal (expires next year).
