Would have been easy enough to keep him and make the playoffs with what they had. He chose a long term focus instead. Same thing should and will happen here.

lol sorry man, didn't mean to be a downer. it's the opposite of what I'm trying to do, which is try to not worry about this team anymore. but deep down, my expectations just aren't high.

How would that have been easy to do? Melo was walking to the Knicks that summer for nothing if the trade did not happen. And it would have been a huge distraction to the team all year.

When Dolan panicked and forced NYK to give up too much MU got lucky. The new CBA coming and a stupid owner and selfish player all created a perfect storm that MU benefited from.

Heh, can't blame a Raptor fan for doubting. But tonight was a big loss for the TWO. Or perhaps that would read better as tonight was a big win for the TWO. And with some tough opponents coming up the Raptors could be on a serious losing bout soon. The Nets may hopefully get some wins together. Along with teams like Detroit, Washington , Knicks and the Cavs could put some wins together soon. Even the Bucks when healthy could start winning a few. They're fans know it which is why some are nervous. Teams like Philly, Boston, PHX and the Magic have played better than expected too. The Raps could potentially be in good tanking position in time for the holidays.

It was easy enough for Colangelo to do with Bosh (when anybody with half a brain knew the guy was gone at season's end). And that Raptors team wasn't anywhere near as good as Melo's Nuggets.

Masai will do what is necessary to make this team better in the long term, he's shown that through his track record in Denver. And it's not like any reasonable observer can actually watch this particular Raptors team and think there is any real future here.
