Let's shoot for the next AK47 . . . MJ was here once and look how that turned out.

I saw MJ in the 95-96 season at the Capital Center and I wasn't referring to the watered down 2.0 Jordan.

When MJ came out of college, no one projected him as a top three GOAT.

Porter is a hugely important piece to the Wizards puzzle right now. Can he get on the court and become enough of a contributor by the trade deadline (2/20/14) that the Wizards can trade Ariza's expiring deal for help in other areas of the roster where it is badly needed?

A productive Porter than allows he and Webster to hold down the SF spot could mean a real backup PG, a legit backup big, or both. Come one Otto!

Strained hip flexor.

He's expected to be back in 2-3 weeks.

Kinda sorta. He hurt the hamstring in summer league. He recovered from that enough that he was working out and scrimmaging in preparation for the season, but then strained the hip flexor. Insufficient recovery from the hamstring injury may have contributed to the hip injury.

I wonder if Porter will make his debut within the next three games?

his conditioning is apparently kinda behind (which I'm disappointed with being a Porter Homer, you would have thought he would have been doing laps in the pool or something). I expect black and white results early on, either massive struggles or surprisingly good play.

He has a hip injury, wouldn't that prevent him from doing any kind of lower body cardio work?

It would and did.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Should this guy play as a shooting guard or Small Forward or something else?

What set him back in the summer league?

He's an SF, he should never play SG.

As for what set him back--the guy never played unstructured basketball to that extent before. Summer league is AAU style ball. He's never played AAU ball before and played under a really structured system at Georgetown. He's not the type of guy who's going to show up at Rucker park and start showing out. He didn't really have any idea what the hell was going on when scrubs started dominating the ball and taking terrible shots. It basically killed his rhythm.

It should be noticed that MCW was a disaster in summer league.

If we resign Ariza, then what was the point of drafting Porter? It seems to me that the best type of SF to pair with Wall is a 3&D SF (exactly what Martell and Trevor are). I think EG just drafted BPA.

If Porter shows well, he may be trade bait in the future.

I think he drafted SPA - Safest player available. And Porter being local factored in. But with Webster showing he can play major minutes at the 2, perhaps Ariza helping at the 4, and the injury factor, there's just enough room for all 3 - while having the flexibility of being able to trade one of them.

I think Porter gets labeled as "safe" because he's really good -- and what makes him really good is that he's well rounded. Players who are really good at one are two things seem to have a ton of potential because you find yourself imagining "oh, if he can just add a jumper" or "oh man, once he figures out how to keep his motor up on D."

I think Porter does a myriad of things that help teams win games -- make shots, pass to teammates for easy shots, get rebounds, create turnovers, force misses, etc. He's not freakishly athletic by nba standards when it comes to explosiveness , quickness, and strength; he's soft spoken and not particularly demonstrative on the floor; and his name is Otto. So I think people can't help but presume an inherent "safety" and therefore lack of potential to his game. I think he's going robe a really, really good pro once he adjusts to the NBA game.
