Reinartz is terrible. I hate him almost as much as I hate Neustädter.

Boenish is hurt I guess? Reinartz is just meh, he's a good defender but is weak on the ball, atleast with neustadter he's a very good defender and a strong retainer when he's not playing like ass.

Still think Hyypia made a few colossal mistakes along the backline, Reinartz or Rolfes should've taken over at LB so Can could push forward through the middle with Bender, and playing Spahic-Toprak over Wollschied against a counter attacking team like united.

That's the problem in Leverkusen for years. On paper their top 11 is good but they refuse to buy enough depth to really compete in three competitions. Although they have enough money from Bayer.
As soon as someone is out there is a big dropoff in performance.

Their failure to secure a #10 for games like this where the opposition sit deep and counter is also a big part of what's holding them back. If they had gotten Eriksen this summer, they would be able to play games like this, but as is, they're just uncomfortable.

Leverkusen don't know how to deal with getting most of the ball against good teams. If they can't just power through a goal or two against a team sitting deep and they're screwed.
