Chicago can waive Bynum to get themselves out of the tax, plus get a pick to find a lower cost rotation player going forward. The Cavs get a veteran defensive leader still in his prime while still giving themselves cover if Deng bolts in the offseason and they hit the lottery.

The issue is that Bynum is not playing like a throw away player right now.....just went for 16 points the other night. He is progressing. They could take Varejao and flip him to another team or get a third party involved to get an expiring?

The issue is a Deng rental is worth nothing to Cleveland. Cavs have no bad expirings and shouldn't give up a pick for a mediocre rental.

I hate the Jack signing. We already had two smaller combo guards who need the ball. I don't understand why adding a third was a good idea. Moreover, Jack's defense might be the worst of three guards. If I could get Deng in while getting Jack out, I would do it in a heart beat. Chicago just lost to Utah. They need someone to run that offense.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Noah+Deng for Bynum+Varejao+Cavs 2014 1st+Protected Kings 1st

Worth it just to see Noah's face the day he finds out he's going to Cleveland.

I simply can't find info on the kings pick. its the 2014 pick?

To get out of having to pay Jack, I think its possible. A terrible signing.

I still think that jack signing is ok brown just needs to learn how to distribute minutes and roles better.

His value has to be 0 right now so I'd try keep him around and see if he improves. Otherwise we'd get nothing imo.

another raptors fan here - we know you guys and the bobcats need a SF... what would you think of something like the following

Toronto In - Dion Waiters + Ben Gordon
Charlotte In - Rudy Gay + Cavs Lottery Protected 1st
Cleveland In - Michael Kidd Gilchrist

you'd basically be moving waiters + a lottery protected first for MKG

Pretty sure Charlotte hangs up the phone immediately. Rudy Gay's value is just not enough to justify that awful contract.

Actually I like Michael Kidd Gilchrist and if he could shoot from outside I might consider this if Charlotte tossed in their first as well.

Oh yea. I love MKG. I wanted the Cavs to draft him in the 2012 draft. There's no way Charlotte trades him for Rudy Gay though. Toronto is going to have to pay someone a hefty price to take Gay off their hands.

Chicago owns the rights to that pick from the Tyrus Thomas deal.

Yup. You read that right. Tyrus Thomas.
