Shawn Marion isn't what I'm looking for in a number 1 pick. If this draft is all it's built up to be then we need someone who is going to give us a good shot at winning a title. A LeBron/KD/Dwight level player.

That could be one of the worst player comparisons I've ever heard.

I honestly have a bit more concern about Jabari Parker's game transferring to the NBA, I just don't see him being able to guard anyone in this league.

Shawn Marion isn't what I'm looking for in a number 1 pick. If this draft is all it's built up to be then we need someone who is going to give us a good shot at winning a title. A LeBron/KD/Dwight level player.

Wiggins doesn't play like Marion but they do have one thing in common. They both are probably the best second jumpers in all of basketball.

I can just watch it on an illegal stream... but I have to commit this act of terror as a matter of principle. They specifically mention this tournament being aired on TSN2 and then they change it? It's stupid that TSN would advertise that they're showing EVERY Kansas Jayhawks game this season (like i complained about earlier) and then go back on their word, especially when it was on their schedule.

Read the thread mmk. I was agreeing with what another poster had said. Did I ever say that this is what I think a good comparison of Wiggins is? All I said was that if this is who we are expecting him to be then I would rather get another player who is going to give the impact that LBJ/KD etc give.

Reading is overrated on this forum it would appear. Some people are just too crazy over Wiggins when we have scouts saying that Parker, Smart, Exum and Embiid all have shots at no1.

The league has changed into team play and of the ball play. Looking at arguably the two best guys in Lebron and Durant. You look at two guys who either like Lebron make everybody else better by distributing the ball to them where they can do damage or like Durnat the ability to catch and shoot use screens to get open. This isn't the league of Jordan where it was Mano e Mano. However to become a complete player in game winning situations it's helps to have a guy who can go one on one. He needs to improve his shooting touch from mid to long range and develop some handles.

Agreed on all your points, I wouldn't be satisfied with Wiggins if he basically became a prime Shawn Marion. Although on Jordan it's worth mentioning that he did dominate the ball, however he was probably the best superstar at playing off the ball this side of Larry Bird.

Even so, would it really be that bad to get a multiple all-star 2-way player?

If the comparison is simply a valuable two way player then I get it but Shawn Marion is much more physical, better rebounder but not quite the athlete, he's a 3-4 tweener that panned out. Also how can you mention Shawn Marion without mentioning his jump shot, it'll probably be a while untill we see another guy with that motion lol.




OT: I have so much respect for Marion as a Raps fan, he came to Toronto as a rental salary dump but he played hard every single night, really showing a passion for the game. Anyone remember this play? It could be the best dunk to have ever been done with the green jerseys
