Re: Evan Turner
While I do like the idea of having some players who you can count on to make open shots for this team I also think we are in need of some athletic players and neither of these work in that respect.

Re: Evan Turner
There's a difference between the two, though. Evan Turner isn't absolutely useless without the ball.
Waiters is looking more and more like Jordan Crawford to me.

Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett and Earl Clark for Evan Turner ,Thaddeus Young and 2 2nd rounders.
Philly gets a high level project in Bennent who needs time and patience to develop. He needs to get himself in great condition and develop his game as a PF. Dion Waiters can serve as a great 6th man or starting 2 guard competing with 76ers Tony Wroten for minutes .
Cavaliers get two young players who are playing at a high level to compete with in the East. Turner is playing like a allstar and Thad is a model of consistency. They will take Cavaliers to the next level.

This would make Cleveland a very interesting team.
I can't see the Cavaliers doing it because of the salary cap ramifications and because no GM is going to publically give up on the first overall pick this soon.
I sort of like it though.

Re: Evan Turner
I want nothing to do with Thaddeus Young at all. He's a SF with a PF skill set. No idea why we'd give up less expensive players who have better skills. It's not that Waiters is poor without the ball, we have one of the worst passing teams I've ever seen. Some of that has to do with scheme, but I swear all they can do is pass on the perimeter. No inside passing at all and lots of blocked passes.

Re: Evan Turner
All of that aside, Waiters is poor without the ball. He never makes shots coming off picks, he never cuts to the basket. He is a good standstill shooter, and that's not playing off the ball, that's getting lucky.
You're right, I do have a question..what happened to the pick and roll? That is Kyrie's forte as a passer and we're not utilizing it at all. We're running a college offense out there, 3 guards and a bunch of bad shots.

BTW Waiters made shots off the ball yesterday
We aren't getting inside at all.

Re: Evan Turner
It was when he was standing still though, I watched the game. He doesn't have the ability to come off a curl and set his feet for a shot, I wish he would learn it. And the only time he went at the rim was when he already had the ball, he needs to find lanes to cut through inside.
