He does have a point though.

Let's give him the point that he has taken less shoots than the others. However in order to gain in effectiveness, MKG needs his defender to play closer to him so he can 1) pump fake or 2) have easier to penetrate.
Moreover it's not like he has taken only 10 shoots, I don't remember the exact number but it's something like 18/35.

And I don't understand what the circumstances of the shoot have something to do here...? He takes the shoot, he puts it in.. end of the discussion. He probably don't try to take fadeaway ala Kobe... (cf: Hendo , and more and more Taylor now).
Hendo would be so more efficient if he was playing a bit more like MKG, if you're open you shoot, otherwise you penetrate to draw the foul, he did it against Boston last night, he had a really good game.

I looked up MKG's shot chart on NBA.com, then proceeded to look up Hendo's from last season. I didn't realise how well he shot the ball last season.

if you look up D Wade's shot chart, I'm sure the majority of his shots from his career are made in the paint, I think Tony Parker also. MKG isn't the best shooter, but he's a pretty good scorer if he's put in position to be productive. The coach puts him at a disadvantage offensively then says "look he isnt producing" but who would expect MKG to flourish as a jump shooter?

might not be a horrible idea to play some pick n roll with MKG and Kemba it might work pretty well, Put McBob in the corner, put Al about 15ft from the basket and put Gerald in the other corner

The kid just needs some more work. In the meantime, I'm with JDR, I wouldn't mind playing a little P&R with MKG just to get him the high percentage shots in the paint OR it opens up the opportunity for the midrange. He won't get any better at shooting unless he shoots. Repetition, repetition, repetition is the name of the game.

I still say we just need to trade Hendo and put a shooter beside this man.

For as much as Hendo has pissed me off, he has been a nice scorer. Without him we would be getting blown out of games. I will say though, he does have a nice contract situation. He's expensive enough to net a good return in a trade, but not too expensive to where teams don't want him. Henderson is just a stopgap anyway, so I can agree with you in some sense.

My question would be though, if you were the GM and you had the ok to move Henderson, who would you target (assuming contracts would allow a straight up trade that doesn't include expirings) and why? I'm just interested to see who you have in mind.

No disagreement but this so-called shooter would really boost Kemba's game as well. We often talk about what type of guard would make MKG's game better but Kemba is left out on his own. Right now Kemba's expected to be option 1 yet people don't want him to chuck. He gets double teamed and forced into bad shots because he has no wing to outlet to. He's simply a much worse player with Hendo and MKG as his wings.

Here's something I wanted to put together - MKG's defensive sequences on Paul George from two nights ago.

MKG is officially a top-5 perimeter defender in my eyes. I feel confident that he can disrupt, contain, and sometimes lockdown any SG/SF in the league nowadays.

A 10-game losing streak might be upon this team with MKG out of the lineup. He'll likely sit for about a week, and his minutes will be limited on his return throughout the season. This is bad news for the Bobcats moving forward depending on who you ask, but it'll certainly help if you're pro-tank with Jeff Taylor receiving more minutes than he already was

****... Not a good news.

I guess we will see a lot of Tolliver... While I'd prefer to see Southerland playing...

I took a wild guess and asked Bonnell whether this had been a problem the whole season and perhaps was it the reason for Clifford seemingly saving MKG a bit.

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell 11m
@ReinisLaacis I have no reason to think this was an issue previous to now.

I dont know plantar fasciitis is not one of those things that sneaks up on you. normally it just get worse and worse and worse till its completely unmanageable. I bet he has been playing on it and now it hurts like hell to even get up in the morning

Yep, that's what I expected to hear when I asked Bonnell the question.

Of course, Liver Pooty will be the first one to tell us that out of all people Tricky Ricky Bonnell shouldn't have the slightest idea about whether the fascitis has affected MKG's playing time.

Crap. With MKG out and Biz only getting minutes when Clifford is desperate, that knocks out the two players I enjoy pulling for the most when I'm watching games. I like guys who can go after it on defense.

Crap. What's the deal with this type of injury? How long will it take to fully heal? Will he need surgery?
