would you rather play Indiana or Miami in first round?

Post#1 » by AnnArborpiston » Sun Dec 1, 2013 12:23 pm

We matched up pretty well with Indiana in our first meeting this year. A bunch of in your face threes was the difference.

Perhaps coming in 8th will be better than 7th? I really think we will be 5th when all is said and done though. Chauncey will help bring a little more control to the unit, and KCP will play more comfortably with more games under his belt.

With how the east is, I still see us making the playoffs. With that being said I could see us giving both teams a hard fought 5 or 6 game series.

Miami, I think we have the pieces to push them harder, plus they are more injury prone.

The Pacers, in my opinion, are overrated.

Pacers because heat would slaughter us on 3's and we'd probably get swept.

I can see us stealing a game or maybe 2 from indiana. obviously it'd be best to be a 4th 5th or 6th seed depending on how this conference shakes out

Lol does it matter we'd get 4-0 swept by both of them. The only thing that would be up for debate is whether or not we'd lose every game by 10 or 15 points.

Doesn't matter, it would be a 4-game sweep against either. Barring injuries to Paul George or LeBron James.

Yes, they'd get swept by either if they are playing the same way they have been so far. You hope they can improve over the season, perhaps enough to avoid either of these teams in the first round. Of course, at this point worrying about the playoffs might be a tad premature.

I personally feel both sweep us but I like playing Miami less. We have no answer for LBJ. I think we need to acquire a Bruce Bowen type in all honesty.

Miami. I think our players benefit more from going up against a trancendent player like Lebron, getting a taste of playpff intensity.

But man Indiana scares me as a team. They remind me of our 04 team how they are constricted, defensive juggernauts.

Ariza would be my choice for a guy like that

Neither, we would get swept. Hopefully we get the 5th or 6th seed.

I agree in that Ariza is a great fit. The problem is who do we acquire him? I just don't see trading CV and Singler for Ariza working for them.

after this week (we play Miami twice) we should get a better idea.

I think we would be like Indiana lite versus Miami, except their perimeter defense is stellar and we have a hard enough time scoring from the perimeter. they also make it very hard to get the ball inside.

so yeah the Miami matchup could go one of two ways, we could put up a decent fight against them or get blown out every time.

right now i'm gonna say Indiana.

but to answer between Indiana or Miami?

Miami.

I think Drummond scares them a bit and Josh Smith is actually a decent matchup athletically for LeBron. They've witnessed Drummond's freakish ability to steal the ball from dominate guards like Wade. :)

Bosh and LeBron are tied for Miami's rebounding leader... only 5.8rpg!

Once Otto Porter comes back, there's no reason to think that the Wiz won't shop Ariza or Webster. The only problem is that they could really use Stuckey as they're overworking Beal and Wall.

Would we be willing to give up Stuckey to get Ariza? It would really give us the ability to move a big to the bench and we would have a competitive team

We'd lose to both, but we could provide a bit of a miss match against miami. Drummond and Monroe allow us to have a good center on the court at all times and they don't really have a center.
Smith is a good match up for Lebron. Lebron can't be stopped, but smith is capable of slowing him down.
