Re: Amir playing video games on the bench
Not sure if its just between him and Casey. Could be him not appreciating the ball-hogging that goes on that willfully costs the team wins and perhaps management letting him know he's on the block.
Never woulda figured motivation being a problem for Amir, but his play has been awful for awhile now

I like Hansbrough's hustle, but he seems to be a blackhole - he never passes it out once he gets a rebound...kinda pisses me off.

I think the reporter was saying he was playing video games in the locker room, not on the bench lol.

There seems to be a rift developing between him and Casey.

I think you mean "Amir playing video games before the game".

Hahaha wow I totally misread that. Thanks for pointing that out. It would make more sense seeing as I don't think players are allowed to have cell phones on the bench - not sure about this though.

He probably realizes it's pointless to try hard.
Why bother? Management doesn't mind losing and they're not really trying to win. Unless he does something really stupid he gets paid.

My mistake. He was not playing video games on the bench.

He's a free agent after next season so maybe it's in his best interest to show he can play in this league? I could see him signing a cheap deal to come off the bench for a playoff team.

Last time I checked, he was still being paid. And paid well. Grow up and accept your new role

Amir historically hasn't been a player who sulks when he comes off the bench. The only time we've seen him like this was when he was having off the court problems that he eventually got some games off to deal with.
Either that kind of thing is happening again, or Casey's non-system is as sickening to play in as it is to watch.

Ya'll need to STFU...
Amir has given heart and soul to this team. Played through more injuries than anyone not named Alvin Williams and has been our best all round player most nights for last couple seasons..
This is a tanking season, players pride is going to take a hit, guys are going to get mad, frustrated and it will effect them on a personal level.
Coach, desperate to find a solution is going to mix things up take guys out of the line up, move new bodies in in a desperate attempt to prove he deserves a chance to be back next season...
Reality is Amir not playing his best ball is not a bad thing... The bad thing is Casey (or anyone ) blaming Amir for the losses. The ISO chuckerfest this team has become kills the efficiency of our big men and while I cheer on the losses I am sad for the effect this season is having on our big men. They are getting miss used in a terrible fashion.
So cut Amir some slack and yell at Casey and Rudy, they deserve the attention much more...

Come on man. The players have to now be realizing that Casey is a hack, especially our bigs. Being sent to the bench as the third big means no minutes and Amir is a guy that does good things for the team when on the floor.
Besides, all he did was not be his usual happy go lucky self. I'm depressed and so are many Raptors fans, why should he be any different?

props to Turbozone for the sig

To be fair he hasn't been utilized, nor has anyone else on the team, by Casey... then he gets slack for not being the same Amir as prior years ... well no ****.. He is understandably pissed in this situation because the team is losing, he's not getting used on offense and then Casey comes and talks to him about going to the second unit... (which happened some time ago as Amir noted in his post-game interview)... his play starts to regress because he is human and is getting sick of the BS, why isn't Rudy being held accountable is one example. Then today he loses his spot officially... and it had less to do with Amir and more to do with coaching incompetence and Rudy
This is my view on the situation
Derozan feels similar to this
