It's useless bemoaning Pau's play, whether it's warranted or not. If he continues to play poorly, he's not going to be extended, but he's also not going to be helping us too much this year. If he plays better, then he's going to help us or get traded for players who can help us (hopefully).

Pau's trade value right now is just as an expiring contract, and that's not exactly going to get us good things. Hope he plays better (or gets healthier), whether you want him on this team or not.

Trading him now or wishing him gone is just bitching about nothing.

Teams need big man help. You could find a taker that would at least get L.A. out of luxury tax range and play more effective defensive lineups. It's not always about the names as tonight showed.

Or both... Wouldn't mind that. Could be that they're trying to showcase Pau. It could also be that they are trying to keep Kaman away from injury until the 15th.

I wouldn't mind getting Earl Clark back. He's been hitting his 3s.

So how do you correct mistakes if they aren't pointed out? Tonight I didn't really say anything about Pau because you did show me tbe light as far as his injuries. The last time we had 4 days off he looked like the Pau of old.

I put it on the coach because hes not supposed to let a guy go 3 for 17 before understanding he doesn't have it when there are able bodies available. Had the switch been made sooner we probably win the game.

Can't speak for everyone here but blame isnt always the theme as much as pointing out how things could have gone a different direction on an obvious flaw.

For what...? What can we get for a guy who's either in sharp decline or hurting? Probably not too much. Or maybe overpaid players who kill our capspace?

Sit him until he's healthy then showcase him. Or let him help us then let him walk. Sell low buy high is never a good strategy.

First let him get healthy - he seems to have been struggling with some health issues...guy didn't really come into this season in terrific shape, that's for sure. You'd think a guy playing for his next contract, even possibly close to a max contract would have busted his ass to be in tip-top shape. Whether he wants to stay on the Lakers or audition for somebody else, he should have been in better shape.

Frustrating. This should have been a bounce-back year from Pau. Sucks for him, sucks for us, but it's Kaman time.

I'm not saying that we're desperate to move Pau. I think mitch is going to shop him around and if the right deal that helps our franchise and doesnt put to much hurt on the cap space presents then he will take it.
The most realistic scenario is that he will probably stay with us.

Also why dont you post anymore on the CT?

This game was a lot closer than i thought it would be considering how much better the talent was for the Blazers. Great effort by the bench. I just hope one of these young guys can start being consistent offensively. They pop up 25 point games here and there and then disappear for the next five games.

Just start Kaman in place of Pau and Melo at the four and roll with it. Get on the damn phone Kobe and say Melo drop a trade request by telling them you're leaving.

Hi, so, dude, I've read the whole thread and after a few pages it got really tiring reading your posts. While I agree that Pau is absolutely trash and I would like him gone for whatever we could get for him, the Jordan Hill thing is a bit of an exageration. Yeah, he's having a rough time lately, but he played only 16 minutes (15:59 actually). In 16 minutes he attempted only 2 shots while you're really pissed that he's trash on offense. Well, guess what, he's not a player really known for his offensive abilities and I don't think there is someone on this board that really expected that from him, well, besides you. Next thing, we all know Pau is incapable of boxing out and only tries to tap the ball since he can't jump or is afraid to touch other players. That leaves Hill battling Lopez and LMA (not counting Batum, a pretty good rebounder for his position). Yeah, that should be easy. Oh, and LMA doesn't have any offensive boards and most of the time Hill was on him. Anyway, Hill kept alive a couple of offensive possessions, 'cause he's an energy guy. That's why he's on the floor, but you can't play with the same energy every single night or get 3-4 offensive rebounds every night. Sometimes it's just not there...

About the trade. That's stupid. NY would never trade Melo for only that since there are teams that could offer far better than two expirings. Also, you do realize Blake/Nash - Kobe - Wes - Melo - Kaman would probably be the worst defensive team in the history of NBA. Also, not a good rebounding team, while Kaman could probably grab 10/per game and has a good mid range game and some post moves he's maybe, just maybe an improvement over Pau on deffensive end. And what happens if he gets injured ? You get to roll with Bald Jesus for 48 a game ? Well, D'Antoni would probably love that since he could play Wes at C and have a whole starting 5 that can spread the floor.

Anyway, I said it got tiring reading your posts. It got because on every single post you kept saying the same damn thing about Hill and Pau. I think we could have got that from the first two or three...

Hill isn't exaggeration it's regression to the norm. Hill for his career is a 16 minute, injury prone, and inconsistent hustle player. As the problem is people want him playing and starting at PF. They are talking he deserves 6-8mil of the cap next year. Hill fell from fatigue, got hurt like he gets hurt every year, and isn't a starter in this league. But if he's starting at pf he needs to double double because in the first unit he's not been an overwhelming positive at all, like he was in his role as a 15min reserve 3rd center gobbling boards. He deserves blame for not being consistent and honestly not being in shape to go to the next level, much like Earl Clark whose shelf life expired quickly. And he has gotten eaten by the good pfs it's not new at all, it's a consistent thing that he's not kicking anyone's ass out there unless if they are already worn down before he enters like to start the year.
