The best Minnesota could do for Derrick Williams was Luc Mbah a Moute?

Wow.

Cotdamn...we could have offered Ariza at least.

edit: And why would Sacramento want him? They stockpiling underwhelming, undersized power forwards? I don't get it.

It doesn't surprise me. They waited too long. It's now pretty obvious that Derrick Williams is what he is: a relatively inefficient tweener forward who plays poor D. At this point, he's arguably a negative value contract.

Maybe this means Patterson can be had cheaply? If Porter is going to be 100% soon, Ariza for Patterson and Jimmer works in the checker. May even be able to squeeze a second or two out of the Kings.

Derrick Williams is a bigger bust than Kwame Brown.

For the Wolves definitely. Brown at least got the Wizards Caron Butler.

Especially since Mbah a Moute is signed for an additional year. I agree Ariza would have been a lot better swap even if it cost them a 2nd.

Now that is a bust of a pick. There goes the #2 2011

Add this to their #3 2010 pick. Wes Johnson
The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team acquired three second-round draft picks and sent forward Wes Johnson and a future first-round draft pick to Phoenix in a three-team trade that also involved the New Orleans Hornets.

2012 #14... Shabazz Muhammad

Wow Minny can chew through some high picks...

But this one saved them..2008.. MEM trades..Kevin Love, Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal, and Jason Collins for OJ Mayo, Marko Jaric, Antoine Walker, and Greg Buckner

But in 2009, they picked Jonny Flynn over Stephen Curry, Jordan Hill, and Demar DeRozan

That 2008 trade saved their butts.

Its was the best of time, it was the worst of time.

http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_ ... vale-mcgee

Man, Denver is really a mixed bag as a franchise.

http://hoopshype.com/salaries/denver.htm

They are paying McGee a ton of money and look to be better without him.
Also paying Gallinari a lot and winning without him.

They have Faried for next to nothing.

They are winning with a 10 man rotation of lots of players not making much and over paying for players that either aren't playing or not helping them win ( McGee )

I still say we robbed them getting Nene for McGee. Even with Nene injury concerns.

They also have the Knicks pick this year. Denver is in fine shape (even if they have Javale's useless conteact).

Owww. Injuries killing the league early this year.

But don't worry, Ryan Anderson to the rescue.

Man, that really sucks. He might not be out all that long though. I fractured my hand and was back in 5 weeks. And I was 37 years old at the time.

Are we sure?

He scored 12 points on 13 shots, so yes, thats a relatively inefficient night. But he's talented; perhaps in the right role in his correct position he can improve. Sacto gave up nothing for him, so good for them.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure. If that's supposed to be a "good" night, I'm not particularly worried about my prognosis. 6 of 13 in 32 minutes is a completely ordinary night. He tabulated no steals and no blocks, and rebounded at a fairly pedestrian rate.

He was 1-3 with 4 points and 2 turnovers the next game. So far, in two games in Sacramento, his PER of 8.5 is just as bad as it was in Minnesota. I expect him to reach his relatively middling level of his first 2 seasons (PER in the 12-14 range with poor defense) but I don't expect him to ever be an impact player.

There seems to be a rash of players breaking their hands recently:

Derrick Williams first game with Sacramento rated a PPA of 38. Below replacement level.

What's your point here? McGee has a fractured tibia. It's not like he's getting DNP-CDs.
