This quote would mean awhole lot if Kobe only had 1-2 rings.
The guy has 5 freaking rings.

Im pretty sure he established himself as a Champion already.

Getting paid handsomely isn't a crime.
Why don't you go to your Boss and tell him that he's paying you too much.

He makes boatloads of money from endorsements, and will continue to in the future. Comparing his job and wealth to the average person is just stupid. Lebron, wade, and bosh took paycuts to win championships. Kobe is supposedly the guy who will do anything to win. Why did he sign an enormous contract which handicaps the team? He truly does not care about winning now a days. This eliminates any chance of it. He is just gunning for the scoring record.

So?

Seriously how does it make a difference if he is? He knows getting a sixth doesn't put him over Jordan so may as well go for something else in the history books.

Besides it's a moot point. The lakers are the ones who screwed up. They started out with too high a number. There wasn't even a negotiation so what's the big deal? In the other deals, the players didn't go back to the team and demand to be payed less. The teams were just smarter.

I don't know how people believed that. The guy couldn't stand to be second fiddle to Shaq.

Interesting position. Let's take that one step further. HIm "jettisoning" Shaq resulted in 3 more trips to the finals with 2 more rings.

But I am actually replying here because Shaq was brought up. Shaq actually stormed down the court screaming at Dr Buss to and I quote .." Pay me Mother******" He was already the highest paid guy in the league and wanted to continue to be that guy.

Was Shaq vilified for this? No, he was praised and Kobe was bashed for publicly calling Shaq out for his negotiation tactics in the wake of Payton and Malone coming to the team on a deep discount.

The team was salary maxed out and didn't have any moves ( other than trading Shaq) It's funny how things work out.

People should obviously drop the notion that "all he cares about is winning" then. This proves that isn't what he cares about. It is more about Kobe than it is winning. This contract pretty much guarantees they don't win one with him there.

Other than Repeating the obvious above I'll add one more obvious point. Kobe knew we weren't getting Lebron and therefore weren't winning titles anyway. We can still sign fa in 2015. You really think kobe, melo, and some role players wins a title? No.

Kobe, rondo, and love have a shot at winning a title. Hell, kobe and love along with some solid pickups could definitely win a title.

Well Love is an FA in 2015. The final year of Kobe's contract. So in theory that could still happen.

However, an honest question. What are the chances the Lakers get Rondo and or Love ? 5%? 10%? 3%? 50%?

I strongly disagree. kobe will be 37 by the time we can get them. It was Lebron or bust

I think Kevin Love would love to play in LA.. I saw him do some cameo's on shows. I think he would love to come home, play for the Lakers and have the lifestyle
