Any deal with Chandler going to OKC needs to result with Adams going to the Knicks.

Shumpert & Filler to Houston for Asik
1.) Why for Houston - Throw Shumpert on the likes of Curry, Westbrook, Durant, Ellis, Parker
2.) Why for Knicks - Asik is Center of the future
Moving Forward you have the likes of Jackson, Asik, Hardaway Jr and a 2015 Pick for the Knicks - Dark Place my ASS
Not bad.

NYKfan77...better yet lets flip JR to Portland for Lopez
Why for Knicks: We FINALLY get the back-up center we have always desired in Lopez
Why for Portland: They LITERALLY do not have a single scorer off the bench. Unless you count Mo Williams a threat at this point in his career. JR would thrive here knowing the pressure is off with the likes of Lillard & Aldridge doing the bulk of the scoring
*Again, I just hate when fans think all is dark & gloomy. To me that is a cop-out BS excuse. That is like saying the girl who plays hard to get becomes "impossible." Its time to sack up and get creative.
The Knicks have SO MANY moves they can make...the problem is they are way, way, way too loyal to their own players. And in the end it will bury them all.
Trust me though, there are many ways out of this. If only management had the savyness & guts to get it done.

Re: Knicks-Related Trade "THOUGHTS" Thread
R-DAWG...Portland is definitely getting some good value in Robin Lopez. He is averaging 8.5 Points & 8.5 RPG. Howver you cannot convince me that he is more important to THIS Portland team then JR was to the knicks LAST year (lets not discuss JR so far this season please).
Having said that, after Portland's strong starting 5 their bench consists of Earl Watson, Mo Williams, Thomas Robinson, & Dorrell Wright. I just do not see one guy, not one of those above mentioned players getting you 20+ plus points on on a night when your starters are off. JR (for what he is CAPABLE of doing at 5.5 Million is really not a bad contract). To put it simple, its not that a team wouldn't want JR because of his contract, its because they wouldn't want him as a player and a person.
Is this a slight gamble for Portland...I guess. But when your facing loaded offensive teams like Houston, OKC & The Warriors, you cannot convince me that having JR as your 6th man on a above average athletic team like the Jail Blazers is a bad fit - I just do not see that logic.

Re: Knicks-Related Trade "THOUGHTS" Thread
Blazers aren't fixing what's not broken. It'd have to be something that doesn't mess up their rotation completely. Something like:
Jr + Kenyon + Aldrich for Barton + Robinson + Leonard
But Kenyon would have to agree to a trade because he's a one year bird player.

I agree with what your saying but your robbing Peter to pay Paul. It's a move that could backfire big time but more importantly leaves them without a starting C to get a guy to play at a position, wing scorer, where they have a lot of talent already in Matthews and Batum to go along with Lillard and Mo Williams. Maybe a deal built around CJ McCollum would work.
But we should discuss this season, and last season too going back to the playoffs. Or the Miami series in 2012. JR Smith is exactly who he has always been - an extremely talented but selfish clown who doesn't take his job seriously. And he just got a 3 year deal, half of the money upfront. Oh, and he's also coming off knee surgery and a suspension for drugs. Let's not JR off of 3 months when he was looking to get paid (although he still managed to f up when it mattered most). JR is a 7th man on most teams, can give you instant offense some nights but on others you need to pull him after 2 minutes.
I think a team would take a chance buying JR low, but not at the expense of a starter.

Re: Knicks-Related Trade "THOUGHTS" Thread
Knicks may need to blow this up and still remain competitive.
The Clippers is a place Melo wouldn't mind playing especially with finally another star player in Chris Paul.
Knicks trade: Carmelo Anthony
Knicks receive: Blake Griffin, Jared Dudley, 2016 1st round pick, 2017 1st round pick, 2016 2nd round pick
That is great value for Melo----- Griffin and (2) 1st round picks.
Why this works for both teams?
Melo to LA gives them automatic championship contention. Melo and CP3 have the same agent and be wanting to play with each other for years. Doc rivers will get the best out of Melo. Knicks get a star in return to keep the garden excited and entertain with Blake Griffin. Knicks also get (2) 1st round draft picks to rebuild along with a solid starting F in Dudley and a throw in 2nd round picks.
Knicks trade: Tyson Chandler
Knicks get: K. Perkins, Jeramy Lamb, H. Thabeet & 2014 second round pick.
Why this works for both teams?
OKC needs Tyson to man handle the paint he is a champion,, his leadership, P&R abilities and defense fits well with their team along with Durant and Westbrook. In return the knicks get a temp filler in Perkins and a young prospect with J.Lamb to start at the 2. Thabeet is a throw in and so is the 2014 second pick.
Knicks trade: Iman Shumpert & Raymond Felton
Knicks get: Jimmer Fredette and G. Vasquez
Why this works for both teams?
Iman fits well with SAC team right now, he fits right in. I. Thomas is doing a good job at the point right now and makes Vasquez expandable. SAC is missing a defensive 2 guard with upside like Shumpert. As for Vasquez departure, Felton is there to be a back up, a role he will succeed in. Jimmer is a throw in because they didn't pick up his option. Knicks pick up a high upside point guard in Vasquez and he is relatively cheap right now, Jimmer is put in a place he had much success and he may pan out to be a steve kerr type of player in the right system.
Knicks
Perkins/ Thabeet/ Aldrich
Griffin / STAT / K-Mart
Dudley / MWP / Smith
Lamb / Hardaway/ Fredette
Vasquez / Pablo / Urdith
That a competitive young team with flexibility.
Next up trade JR to any takers for cap relief.

2 first round picks and a 2nd round pick. We gave up more for him.
Chandler nets you a replacement in Perkinds and a high upside guard in Lamb. Kid has proven he can score and has good size.

Probably would make more sense to send both Anthony and Chandler to the Clippers for Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Jared Dudley and picks. Too bad this didn't happen last season, they may have been able to get Griffin, Jordan and Bledsoe for Anthony and Chandler. Anthony and Chandler would definitely ramp up the Clips chances at a title and Anthony gets to play with his BFF and the two could potentially become the most dynamic duo in the league. Chandler is a clear "right now" upgrade over Jordan.

Packaging melo and tyson would probably be the only way the clippers entertain a trade with the knicks. you know how it is, when we stink anyone associated with this team is worth a couple of stale pretzels and a bottle of hot dog water unfortunately.

Re: Knicks-Related Trade "THOUGHTS" Thread
Melo and Tyson combine for 36M and Clippers are already 1.6M above the luxury tax threshold. They'd have to add at least 8.6M in outgoing salaries for Sterling to even consider this. That means sacrificing their bench depth which has been the difference maker for the last couple of seasons. I don't see it happening.

Re: Knicks-Related Trade "THOUGHTS" Thread
I have a friend of a friend who has an in with the knicks I don't know how or any specifics. He texted him this morning saying "Knicks get Deng, Varejao, Hinrich, Waiters. Cleveland gets Chandler and Shump. Bulls get melo" He said this isn't a guy who just makes up trades and send it to him.
This trade works under the espn trade checker. Thought it was interesting if nothing at all. I have no idea who this is or if he's anything that's why I kept it in the trade thread and didn't post anything in a separate thread.
I'm not trying to spread anything or start any kind of rumor just wanted to pass along another trade idea I guess.
Cheers
