I'm not sure what the thinking behind Kazmir was, either. He definitely had a comeback last year, but that could have been a fluke and 11 million for a fluke could be bad news.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what Detroit is thinking with the shifting around. I know they want to keep Scherzer with a nice deal, but they might have a card up their sleeves.

Wow, at least one of my teams has a damn good GM. Rizzo just took the Tigers to the woodshed. Fister, a solid #2/3 SP(he'll be #4 here)for basically three spare parts? Damn good deal. Lombordozzi is a nice utility infielder, basically the perfect bench guy, but that's about it. I actually like Krol a lot, he's got good stuff but is raw as hell, but when you can land a solid SP for three guys who aren't starters or even close to it, you make that deal everytime.

Stras/Gonzalez/Zimemrmann/Fister...best SP rotation in baseball.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Verlander, Scherzer, Sanchez, and Smyly say hi :D

We'll miss you Doug, the Nats got a good one. I'm okay with the trade, don't really like it, but we shall see how this plays out.

AJ Pierzynski the new catcher for the Red Sox. I'll take the deal seeing that it is for only one season and I can't stand Salty. I think the Sox will use more of a platoon this season with Ross going against lefties. Good gamble and it solves a year as they get closer to when the prospects at catcher should be able to take the job over.

As if I needed more of a reason to hate the Sawx, now they go ahead and get one of the biggest douchebags to be their catcher.

Michael Choice to the Rangers for Gentry. What a great trade for the Rangers. Choice is going to be a monster in that ballpark.

Whoops, anyway meant to say how I don't like it at first, but I didn't like Gomez at first and fell in love

Three bits of news to come across the wire in the last few hours:

- Joe Nathan to Detroit in a 2-year deal
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ml ... n/3854861/

- The Rays, Reds and D'backs have completed a three-way deal that sends Heath Bell and Ryan Hanigan to Tampa as the biggest pieces.
http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/10074 ... team-trade

- Apparently the Mariners are the top dog for Robinson Cano now, as they are willing to give him $200 million, as opposed to the Yankees, who are set on $170 million.

A's trade Seth Smith to San Diego for Luke Gregerson.

Excellent move by the A's.

Salty to the Marlins for 3-yr/$21 mil.

If he can build a good rapport with the young rotation during the spring, that will be a great veteran signing for them.

The Yankees have reportedly made an "aggressive offer" to Jacoby Ellsbury. If he signs, this will most likely be my reaction...

Hmm...7 years and more than Crawford to a guy that has trouble staying healthy. Better not be the end of Cano in a Yankee uniform.

If he stays healthy, something like 140 games per year for at least 4 of the 7 years, this will be awesome.

Gotta abandon Plan 189 and sign Cano or this offense isn't going anywhere. Need pitching still too.

I think all that talk was bullsh*t, honestly. They know damn well they have to buy their way for another couple seasons until the system has any semblance of being decent.

The pitching is what worries me, still. If CC keeps going downhill and this staff is left without a true ace, then it will be another long year in 2014.

But for now, I'll just be happy with stealing Ellsbury from the Sawx. The Yanks are coming for that title.

Maybe the Yanks know A-Rod's appeal failed?
