The west as a whole is definitely a better conference, but Miami and the Pacers despite their 2 recent losses look like the respective classes of the NBA. There are some abnormal shooting %'s that i'd be surprised if sustained by season end by key role players on many contending teams, Belinelli and Matthews mainly.

As a fan of a "playoff" team in the east, it does pain me to admit however, that the system should be top 16 move forward. Fair is fair. :/

I think you are confusing bad offense w/ good defense.

The West is ridiculously deep this year. When you have to face teams THAT talented almost every game, it becomes nearly impossible to keep them all around 92pts.

Meanwhile, in east you get to face one offensively challenged team after another. For example, even top Eastern teams like Bulls(with healthy D-Rose) and Pacers are mediocre offensively. So you can see how that would affect the "points allowed" category you were likely referring to in the earlier post.

If the East was defensively superior to West, the EAST vs WEST record wouldn't be THAT lopsided.

Conference Quality has little to do with one or two teams. It is undeniable to any honest and objective person that the EC from top to bottom is far worse than the WC.

I don't why people want to deny the truth. In 87 the Lakers were the best team in the NBA but that doesn't change the fact the EC was far better than the 87 WC. Right now the opposite is true.

Turn about is fair play. When fans from Western Conference teams take shots they also associate themselves with their entire conference. As if every team in the East is responsible for every other team's bad play.

we were _this_ close to lose the finals.
tbh, the Spurs gave us the hardest fight of all teams in the post season... and they were the only team from the western conference we faced in the playoffs.

during the regular season we struggled against the Grizzlies, the Clippers and the Warriors.
funny thing is, they all played in the West.

that we faced the Spurs in the finals was kinda lucky, as we had their number all regular season long.
