Personally, I don't care and actually would like to see him leave. It's not as if he's the kind of player that you rest your entire franchise on to carry you to a championship. He's just not that guy and for some who thinks he is well, I would consider them delusional. So, please leave Kevin, it's not like we'd be taking a step backwards without you.

You're right, just like we didn't take a step back when we traded Garnett
Note: Not saying Garnett = Love, but Garnett wasn't "the kind of player that you rest your entire franchise on to carry you to a championship" either

Love is not on the same planet as KG so, there's no comparison at all. KG was more of a franchise player than Love will ever be. KG played all 10 positions on the floor. The only thing Love does that KG couldn't is hit 3 pointers. KG defended, played the 1-5 on offense and defended the 1-5, something Love will never be able to do. Also, KG led most of his teams to the playoffs. Again, something Love has never done. The most wins Love as ever led his teams to was 17 so, the team would actually have to win more games in order to get to where the Wolves were post KG and before Love arrived. As long as Love is this team's, "Superstar", they will continue to be mediocre.

Well damn! sounds like Flip should hire you, then we could continue to be a worthless franchise to an even greater extent.

Answer me this, what has Love done as the Wolves franchise player to take this team to the next level? Do you realize that without him last season they won more games than they ever did with him?

And 1 that shiznit, Dude now has a 25% and 1 percentage. Best of the board!
Yes K-love is toxic, who cares, he shoots threes, he rebounds, he tips in a shot or two a game, he has scratched on his back, he grew a beard that makes him look ugly, he has sex with girls in hotel rooms while on road trips, he's everything you wish you could be..... but taller. I say keep them dude, and get him a low post defender to save him some energy for his dynamic offensive game, even though part of his offensive game is his defense being....offensive.

Like I said, as long as he is their franchise player they will continue to be mediocre. Oh, and feel free to answer my question.

Answer to q = nothing. He did however break his hand, taking away a year of his contract that he doesn't like and will opt out of at first chance. He's at best a #2 on a contending team. The Westbrook of the Wolves with no Durrant to Batman his efforts. He get his batgirl effort of of K-mart, but Mart's girly shot and terrible defense only hurt in the long term given the lack of defense overall on the team. As one who believes in team defense over individual defense I must say, Martin + Love = lack of effort = no chance to be a good defensive team (consistently) especially when some tall white guy is arguing with the refs about some non-call instead of running back to not play defense.
you did however, by posting again, lower your And 1 percentage to 20%. Better watch out the mods will bench you soon and never let you have a chance to prove yourself. Your confidence will be shot and you won't find yourself again until you're in a new forum with mods who lets you find your (et hem) post game again.

Thank you, I appreciate you answering my question rather than continuing to retort with hurling insults.
I disagree that Love is at best a #2 on a contending team. I think he is at best a #3. He gets his points off of screens with his feet set and can usually be a reliable 3 point threat. What his role really is is hitting 3s and getting rebounds and doing the dirty work. You saw this when he was with the World Champion and the Olympic teams minus the 3 pointers. He's not suited to be a franchise player and your #2 is not someone that can't create his own offense or defend. So, that being said, the Wolves would be be better served to somehow bring in a number 1 and 2 option and let Love play his natural role as the spot up 3 and rebounder. That, however, is much easier said than done so, I guess they're stuck with what they have for now. I just think that if you trade him you can get something back in return that would help them get to the next level.

Re: Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
In my mind he is walking. I dont have faith that the wolves can ever put together an elite team with the assets we have. Love in my mind is a melo tier. Fits the mold of a superstar but I dont think can lead the team as the best player unless you can mask his deficiencies and have the perfect team built for him.
No way we are ver going to be a decent defensive team with Pekovic as our center. And timberwolves first real 2 guard in years is 30 years old already. Who is our future there? Still too many question marks if I was love.
Again I would feel comfortable if our front office had a good track record. But i just dont have any faith. If it were up to me I would trade him for 2014 lotto pick + promising players.

Love hasn't broke the CBA with an absurd contract aand followed that up by forcing the GM to sign all his role player friends to starter level contracts that crippled the franchise's cap space to put together a championship caliber team.

Seriously? How many of those players are there in the league? There wouldn't be more than a handful. You're acting like because Love doesn't have us sitting at the top of the West we should ship his ass out. A lot of the team's troubles have to do with the team as a whole and the lack of talent he's had surrounding him until the last season and a quarter. Just because we're not in the promised land yet and our best player isn't on LeBron or Durant's level doesn't mean we need to trade him or let him walk.

Would you guys be open to trading him to the Bulls for the Charlotte pick, future 1st, and Carlos Boozer's expiring deal(assuming this deal is made this summer)?

Re: Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
I think Chicago has what it takes for a Love-trade. He makes sense for them and they have pieces that suits us. Their own 14 pick, Bobcats pick, Boozer and the rights to Mirotic makes sense. If we could somehow get Butler for Budinger or something as well, I'd certainly trade Love to them.

Replace Boozer with Deng and you got a deal.

Re: Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
getting rid of Love? who the hell would ever come to MN if we continue to show we are unwilling to retain our best players? Love staying is a must (and I'm not a huge Love guy), but to make it pay, we cannot expect to have a one-dimensional center who does not compliment defensively and also lack a PG/Wing player who cannot take over a game... Love is a rare breed that most any championship team would love to have as a #2/#3 guy. Clearly not gonna come out ahead trading him. We need to roll the dice and cash in on a go to guy for this team or it wont matter if he comes or goes.
I package any other combination on our team for a goto if possible - any day before I move Love.

If CHI fans want Love and also want to dump Boozer's bad contract on us, that would take all their assets including Butler to field a competitive bid.

Re: Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
Sorry if this is a rehashing for people who read my stuff on the Trade Board, but I thought it would be valuable to point out the economics of superstar trades.
1. To get full trade value when dealing a superstar, he needs to be traded by the deadline in the year before he can leave. For Love, this would be in three months. in this case, the seller is offering two guaranteed play-off runs, as well as the increased possibility of more years. This brings more bidders to the auction, especially since NBA success is often linked to acquiring superstars. At this point, think Deron Williams for the high level of return.
2. If the team dealing the superstar waits until the off-season, or the following Trade Deadline, then the return shrinks. The team is offering only one guaranteed play-off run. The player becomes much less valuable, especially compared to what teams will pay if they think the superstar will sign a new contract in the future. At this point, the player holds all the leverage, and if he says he will only sign with one team, his value plummets. If there is only one bidder, they can say,"take my low offer, or lose him for nothing."
3. Each team wants to hold onto their superstar, and once you have one, it is easier to keep him. He has a home, friends, knows his teammates, etc. The team needs to make a decision whether they can push their benefits - including adding talent to make a winner - so that gambling on his likelihood of staying is worth saying no to a more sure-fire, immediate offer. That's the tipping point. Superstars are rare, and even a 50% chance of keeping one may be worth a lot of really good prospects/picks that will probably never develop into that rare beast.
