I want Asik so bad on this team, I can't even think straight lol

PG-who cares
D-Wade
Lebron
Bosh
Asik

End the NBA competition this year period, as close to a super real life team as it's going to get

I wish Mickey Arison and Pat Riley would try anything short of trading the big three to get Asik...If we can keep the big 3, Beasley, Birdman, Shane and Ray Allen......that would be amazing. I know Houston wants a back-center and a stretch 4.....Rashard Lewis and Joel Anthony is it(I'm not Haslem go so it's pointless to discuss)

Well I don't claim to know how the trading game works and Asik would be so expensive next year but MAN oh MAN if it was anyway outside of letting go of the players above? That would a wet dream for all us Heat fans

one can only dream

I'd def part ways with Chalmers, Philly pick and Anthony for Asik, but obviously that's in favor of us unless Asik causes huge drama that Houston just wants to get rid of him.

There is no way Houston does this.

how desperate are we for some help in the frontcourt or to unload Joel Anthony? i am, i would sign Rasho Nesterović with one hip, a broken back and arthritis over Joel Anthony. Riley must have been drunk when he gave Joel that contract !

Asik has a rebounding percentage of 20.8 currently this season, and this including Dwight's 21.2 rebounding % on Houston. The player on Miami with the highest rebounding percentage is Birdman, at 16.0. Miami desperately needs a good rebounder on this team. I would trade Bosh for Asik. I think Miami would be a better team if you trade Bosh for Asik. The object of a team is to field the best team possible.

We almost lost to well ran organization in the Spurs last season in the Finals if it wasn't for Ray Alen's miracle shot. The Pacers also took us to 7 games that same playoffs run. We stuggle to beat teams with good rebounding big men. Everyone has to be clicking on Miami collectively for them to barely beat a great rebounding team because any team that has good frontcourt rebounders that are offensive minded tend to pose matchup problems for Miami

Indiana, Chicago, Memphis, San Antonio, etc... and now Houston.

Is Ray Allen's corner three more miraculous than Danny Green being a Finals MVP candidate after 5 games?

I agree but dont forget we still have our mini mle. wait for the amnesty period - something will shake up. there is no sense trading Bosh right now.

No Asik means we can't resign the big 3 unless they take a huge discount. I'm out.

This is false. We have their bird rights, we can resign them anyway.

Would have loved to get Asik, sadly we don't have good enough assets to trade for him.

Okafor and Hawes are more realistic options and would still be helpful IMO.

Okay I understand that, what I was trying to get at is we'd be over cap again and be hit with repeater tax or whatever the new CBA brought. In an ideal situation the big 3 would resign on a smaller contracts with huge raises to get out of luxury tax next year and then go over the tax again the next year.

Well you make more sense now, but it's still false. If we would have gotten Asik we could have let Rio walk and/or not use the MLE or MiniMLE and stay under the luxury tax threshold.

That's fine and all but then what Norris Cole starts with no real bench PG? Or does LeBron or Wades minutes increase to compensate the bench role? As for MLE or MiniMLE it would be nice to have those to resign Beas (probably MiniMLE). I'd assume Ray come back on vet min this time around. Asik brings that 15 mil player we could use but why not get someone who can play both ends of the floor then, maybe Pau for 10 million (if he is willing to take a paycut).

Backup PG's are not hard to find, would rather have Asik, a legitimate starting Center and find a young PG to replace Mario. with all due respect to Rio. But it's not happening, let's just drop it.
