jotting down some notes as i watch the game tonight.

***wall of text alert***

1st quarter
- taylor has one month to prove he isnt just another 2nd round wing with no real future outside of bench fodder. if i was putting odds on taylor figuring it out and becoming a real solid player i'd go with about 50/50.
- lets spend a lot of time looking at the kemba pick and rolls tonight, especially when jefferson is the roll man.
- sessions is due for a good game. he has been crap the past few weeks. - fats bold prediction of the night
- josh "charlie" mcroberts, playing philadelphia... i half expect him to run out at halftime with a few dead rats while sniffing a rag soaked in paint thinner.
- who would have guessed there would be two current NBA coaches from the basketball hotbed of maine.
- p/r kemba and josh, kemba passes to josh for missed 3 (was a good shot, wide open)
- too many mid-range jumpers, not enough in the paint.
- taylor 3-for-3, nice start. amcoolio swears taylor plays better when he starts.
- uncle steve: "cody has struggled the last 2 games"... um, i think he meant to say "last 20 games"
- taylor half asleep on that backdoor cut for a layup. he seems to ball watch a lot when he is off the ball.
- p/r kemba and zeller, kemba ignores the screen and take it in for a layup (nice decision).
- this game will definitely help our pace stats.

2nd quarter
- gordon is in, lets hope for some hilarious defensive moments.
- way too many empty seats for a friday
- uncle steve: "hawes launches it halfway to albermarle"
- looks like i am correct with my sessions prediction. he is killing it.
- gordon still loves to pass to biz, my favorite thing about gordon.
- biz looks really good defending away from the basket tonight... and just like that he sprains his ankle.
- hendo, passes up a wide open 3 to drive into a crowd of 4 defenders and turn the ball over. [bangs head]
- has jefferson taken a shot yet?
- hendo, makes a 3, check that, his foot on the line [bangs head]
- p/r kemba and josh/al, kemba steps back for 3, swish. (great decision)
- p/r kemba and jefferson, kemba passes to sessions for 3, miss. (meh, ok decision, nothing special.)
- maybe while that giant metal brace on MKGs finger he'll learn to shoot without putting his left hand all over the top of the ball.

3rd quarter
- i just dropped a big piece of beef jerky into the black hole that is the side of my recliner cusion. should i get it? or leave it?
- safe to say that clifford's message at halftime was to get jefferson involved.
- p/r kemba and jefferson, kemba ignores the screen, drives the paint and passes to taylor for an open 3, miss (good decision).
- steph ready said she would own a bakery if she wasnt in basketball. trying to find a sexual innuendo here...
- im not sure the bobcats have figured out that wroten is left-handed. you would think that would be the first line of his scouting report.
- this might be the best passing game kemba has had all season. i am very impressed with him tonight.
- and just as i say that, kemba keeps the ball on a 3-on-2 break and gets blocked. probably could have dumped off to taylor (the trailer).
- but kemba comes back with another great pass to zeller. where the hell has this kemba been hiding all season? i think he really loves this tempo.
- p/r kemba and adrien, kemba drops the ball, has to force shot, makes it. (bad play, good result)
- p/r kemba and adrien, kemba drives, nothing there, passes back to zeller who drives for a dunk (smart by kemba not to force it)
- one of very few bad possessions by kemba tonight, iso, held it too long, had to take a tough off-balanced long two.

4th quarter
- sessions, gordon, taylor, adrien, zeller - this is a scary lineup, in a bad way. how long can clifford afford to stay with these guys?
- does pargo have coaching aspirations? he is frequently standing along the sidelines next to clifford or involved in the huddle.
- best game from zeller so far?
- papa johns!!! which i have yet to order.
- sessions has been awful since i praised him. screw you sessions. put kemba back in.
- are we boring you southerland?
- best game from taylor so far?
- you guys have to appreciate that play by josh - drives paint, draws defenders, hands off to sessions for the layup.
- cavs are down 30 to the hawks? wow.
- p/r kemba and jefferson, kemba passes to josh for 3, miss (meh)
- we have seen the sixers twice this year (including preseason) and both times they have looked awful. where is the team that keeps scoring 120 and beating teams they shouldnt beat?
- another great pass from kemba, easily his best passing game, has 10 assists and it easily could have been 15.

prelim hammers (need to see boxscore to confirm)
gold - kemba
silver - taylor
bronze - hendo

hm - josh, jefferson, zeller, sessions
bf - biyombo's ankle

Is it safe to say that we ran our offense a little more thru Kemba tonight via pick-and-rolls instead of the majority being the McBob handoff offense like most of the season so far?

i dont think it was so much that we used kemba more or used more pick and rolls. if you check out that recap, i listed every pick and roll kemba ran that ended directly in a shot. there were only 8. and josh had the ball plenty tonight, so its not like the ball wasnt in his hands as much as usual.

i think the fast pace really played to kemba's strengths. defensively the sixers gave him more room that many teams that blitz kemba with two defenders. he was very unselfish tonight and really only took one bad shot that i counted (its usually 4 or 5).

kemba just played a great game and the type of game i was expecting from him this year, efficient and unselfish

I'm sad I missed this and glad we won.

Glad that Kemba got the double double.

Zeller with 10/5 in 12 minutes shows what he can do.

Biz with 4/3 in 7 minutes makes me wonder how he and Zeller didn't get more PT.

Sixers fan here. I come in peace. Good win 'Cats

Honestly, I didn't care which team won. I think I was rooting for Charlotte more. My team is a lost cause of walking mediocrity & lack of excitement until Nerlens Noel return next season, and we draft Jabari Parker, Julius Randle, and/or Andrew Wiggins

The game would've been a lot more competitive if Brett Brown didn't give Tony Wroten the green light to try to attack Kemba as if he's some kind of matador or something, because our veterans of Thaddeus Young, Evan Turner, and Spencer Hawes were all feeling it early

Kemba looked good, playing like a traditional pure pass-first point guard tonight. 10 assist to 0 turnovers is a outlandish ratio

Last but not least, let me give credit to Jeff Taylor & Cody Zeller for stepping up and playing to their potential tonight instead of disappointing. I'd still like to see Taylor become more consistent & less hesitant with his catch-and-shoot opportunities beyond the arc, but he made some nice shots and I was impressed by his Euro step move, because I honestly didn't know he had it in him to alter like that. Zeller had a nice athletic slam that he almost held back on, but even so, yet still it was ferocious. If Zeller ever get that midrange jump shot to the level of Chris Bosh/LaMarcus Aldridge/Serge Ibaka, life in the NBA will become a lot easier for him to the point where he might even sniff a All-Star appearance

I was at the game tonight, and it was pretty awesome. Great win. Kemba had a fantastic game, getting a double-double, playing good defense and shooting the ball well. The most impressive aspect of his performance, however, was easily how well he played as a distributor. I was thinking before the game, "If Kemba doesn't shoot it well but gets 8 assists or so, I'll still be pleased." Instead, he shoots it well and gets 10 assists with no turnovers. Excellent.

Zeller had the best game of his career by far. Ran the floor well and made shots in traffic.

Big Al struggled from the field, but played a solid game and made some clutch plays on defense. 14 and 12 is good stuff.

Henderson dominated his Hobe fadeaway. Taylor just had a smooth 20-point game. I didn't realize he had that many, but it came easy to him.

Gotta give props to Biz, before his injury he was playing good minutes and contributing nicely. McRoberts couldn't throw it in the ocean, but he hustled and rebounded well.

Overall, that was a good game to attend. Glad I decided to do so :D

I wouldn't put too much stock into the stat lines from this game. Bobcats played well, but the 76ers are the team this year that lets everyone score on them at will; they give up a LOT of points/rebounds/assists because of this. The great thing about this game was the relatively low turnovers despite it.

I pointed this out on the Sixers forum, but think I'd get a better opinion from Bobcats fans. Does Gerald Henderson mold his game after MJ? I know MJ was mentoring him. Just a lot of his movements out there reminded me of Jordan with and without the ball. Also he's got the bald head and leg sleeve thing going.

Funny, we all think he models himself after Kobe (whence Hobe). He's basically a pale imitation of black mamba. But - of course - Kobe modeled himself after MJ, so - yes- you are absolutely correct.

Most of that stuff that he does is incredibly unnecessary as his talent level doesnt come close to MJ's. We jokingly call him Hobe (Henderson/Kobe mix) for all of the ridiculous ass ish that he pulls.
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere
