Mchale loves Lin. And this stretch of basketball is showing them how valuable he is to them. I don't think Lin gets moved at all during his contract... they need him too much.

I think a better target would be Brooks. We can go after Lin when he's a free agent... I can see him open to coming back just for the city and the fans... up until he signed with Houston he was treated like a king in NYC and players usually don't forget that.

But I did laugh at the bold.

Yeah I really think we could bring Lin back as a free agent.

I'd do Melo, JR and Felt for Lin, Asik, Terrence Jones and Donatas. Then we'd have a future. Not a winning line-up, but with Shump and THJR, they would be enough to make it sweet for Kevin Durant in 2016. Then we'd be talking rings.

Yeah like Durants will replace shumpert and hard away for Westbrook and ibaka

I've also been thinking Lin could come back to us as FA. It is a far more realistic chance to get him than via trade.

But I think (from my observation of him) he's a guy who grows loyal very quickly. I think he's grown loyal to Houston, to his teammates, to coaches, to Morey, to Les Alexander, to the Rockets organization, to fans, to the smaller laid back market. Say what you want about McHale, but I actually agreed with someone who said McHale forced him to focus on his weaknesses (playing off ball, taking care of ball, shoot) and turned them into strengths. He became a more complete player vs if he had been given the green light.

When he's a FA, while he's fond of Linsanity memories and the NY fans, think he's going to leave all that to play with JR and Melo (who talked badly about his contract), and I doubt either would lobby for him to come back and playing for the owner who let him walk out of anger, out of misperception that Lin was selfish??

As long as Dolan is here, I doubt Lin would ever be a Knick again. :( :( Unless... Dolan mans up, says sorry to him via personal conversation, and lobbies him to come back. Small chance.

We should see what we can get for Udrih. I'm sure someone could use him, even a 2nd round pick would be cool.

Murry should be our 3rd PG.

Miami may trade us a shooter like Mason Jr for Udridh.

i know his name has been brought up a lot (especially by me because i love him and he's on my fantasy team), but why doesn't SAC get rid of vasquez? their backcourt is congested, and he's receiving less and less minutes, especially with mclemore and thomas getting a lot of the (plus, thornton as well).

yeah, he doesn't play defense. but at 6'6 he could guard either position, and shump could easily guard the better PG or SG, depending on the team. plus, he's pass-first, which, i think, many of us agree would help this team. he shouldn't be a lot to ask for, especially with sacramento needing to unload a lot of those backcourt players.

they seem to not have any talent at the SF, and although i know he's mainly a SG, why couldn't JR for vasquez and a filler (fredette?) work in january? JR has played most of his minutes at SF the last 2 years, why not?

their most recent acquisition of williams could mean that they don't want a SF, but i see him more of a PF.

Any way to get Monroe here? Detroit needs to move him and they need 2s/3s. If the players heat up, could Shumpert + THJ get it done? That would be amazing.

In additional, I think Lin is too valuable to Houston. You don't see his value when Harden is healthy. He is an insurance policy for Harden just in case Harden get injury. Those 40+ minutes a game is no joke. Just look at OKC when Westbrooks gone down last season in the playoff.

I don't agree a thing you said about McHale. McHale is a terrible coach. Everyone know it is best to play with strength and improve your weakness. After all, weakness is weakness, there is no way you can turn weakness into strength. You don't see McHale yelling at Harden to man up on defense and stop shooting.

That's funny. Monroe doesn't play defense. What would you do with Bargnani?

Want to know the ONE advantage Detroit has over New York? More championships in basketball and hockey.

Knicks needs:

1. Point Guard

2. Point Guard

3. Point Guard

4. Rebounding/inside game forward

5. A shooting guard

There's no way you can turn weakness into strength?

Outside shooting was Jerry Stackhouse's, Vince Carter's, Derrick Rose's, Russell Westbrook's, and hundreds other NBA players' weakness when they were rookies, but they turned it into their strength.

Kobe once said in his first few years in the L, he's obsessed about finding a weakness in his game and turn it into his strength. His D was lousy in his first 3 years in the L, so he sought Gary Payton's advice and became a All NBA Defensive First Team in his 4th year.

Fact: Lin was terrible playing off the ball (SG), his shooting off catch and shoot was bad, he was not good going with his left (although not terrible), he was not good taking care of the ball. He has improved on all of these and in fact made them his strengths.

He just can't take care of the ball.

I don't know if you can play the way he plays--fast slasher, high-risk/high-reward passer--without turning it over a lot. Lin's sort of like Harden in that way. And Harden turns it over a lot more than Lin (he also scores more, and is all-around better, of course). By the same token, yeah, he hasn't made any improvements in that dept.

Would anyone do Felton / Smith for Nash + 2 2nd round picks? Just for the cap room in two years. What else could the Lakers add to the deal?

Knicks should try to move Felton and or Beno. Felton is not a top forty pg. He should not stringerbe starting for us. Beno is a third stringer and to be Frank I'd rather play Murry. Try to get a pick in this draft and allow Shumpert and Murry to play more and be more involved in Shumps case.

They're better than Felton and Udrih which is enough.

Why would we move a young piece for an upgrade? WE NEED YOUTH!

The team needs nothing short of another superstar player to contend, no trade is going to make us win, and I don't want to give up anything of value to treadmill at .500 at best.

Time to blow it up, boys, nothing short of a full scale rebuild.
