Their three point shooting needs to improve, and their free throws aren't so hot either. It's a good wake up call for Kansas, though.

First half for Kansas was a wake up call. They changed their offense for the 2nd half and it worked better. They still have issues defensively and making 3PT shots, but they should be ok as long as they continue to run a non-stagnant offense.

Mason probably didn't wanted to foul it looked like since Booker was leaning on that jumper. Still that was a great shot.

i missed most of the game, and too impatient to wait for youtube highlights. how did wiggins get his points? did he create in the halfcourt off the dribble? or did he get his points in transition, putbacks, offensive rebound garbage buckets, etc? anybody?
did he finally look like the undisputed #1 pick?

He played like a #1 pick, but to say undisputed with the talent in this draft class is slap to the other players' face. Even if Melo/Durant were in this draft, having Parker/Smart/Randle's playing the way they have been so far would prevent them from looking undisputed.

He seemed more dedicated to attacking the basket today. Kansas is going to deal with packed paint all year until Self frees Green from the bench.

Two lightning speed transition buckets, but other than that it was all half court shots, driving in the lane, caught a couple of and ones. Overall a solid comeback game, he seems to be dribbling the ball with more purpose now, I just think they need to run pnrs with him and embid

The fact that Wiggins played his best game so far in a hostile road environment says a lot. It seemed to focus him rather than rattle him. I don't understand those who have attempted to diminish him as a prospect, there's nothing wrong him. The tools are all still there to be a great NBA player.
Embiid was fantastic in the first half. Not sure why the team went away from him in the 2nd. He still needs to learn how to control his body a bit better and not force the officials into calling some of those ticky-tack fouls. It's preventing him from making an even bigger impact.
KU played pretty well considering it was their first road game and they didn't get the benefit of the whistle. They should be fine in the long run.

And tell Ellis to run some flare screens for Wiggy to get open shots, and everytime Wiggy catches the ball at the weak side corner, pump fakes and tries to go right, Ellis will always be in his way like a brick in the low block, forces Wiggy to pass it back out, this happens everytime Wiggy has the ball so he and Ellis should work on their communication or have some PnR sets run thru them instead, if their plays don't work, they can swing the ball around back to Mason to create high low feed to Embild.

Re: OT: Wiggins Discussion Thread (vs. COL, replay TSN2 @ 10
It's going to take Wiggins time to develop and refine his 1 on 1 game, but it doesn't matter when he can score very efficiently on spot-up jumpers, cuts to the basket and in transition all plays scoring above a 1 PPP per Synergy from what ESPN showed in today's game. That's enough for him to put up some big numbers.
The spot-up jumper is key though because a lot of people thought he was a streaky shooter when I said that before he even played a game at KU that he improved on his jumper immensely where any time he has a cushion from downtown it's automatic. With his quick strides and lunge he's going to get to the basket with ease since his man will have to close out on his shot hard creating driving lanes for him to blow by or else he'll bury it. He's even got that spin move as a counter to it and I saw a bit of a Euro-step in transition which he can add to his half-court drives to avoid the help defender.
He can't carry an offense by himself because it's way too simple and defenses can predict it, but he'll be fine. Paul George didn't start his career much of a triple-threat player either scoring simply kind of like Wiggins playing off of Danny Granger and Darren Collison, but with time he can create anything on demand with his dribble.
