Some Love for Brandon Jennings

Post#1 » by Blkbrd671 » Sun Dec 8, 2013 3:18 am

He's lead us to 4 straight road wins, has played at least 40 min per, for the most his shot selection has been great, running the offense, and making key plays down the stretch, and keeping the team calm in the fourth quarter. I thought he deserved his own thread to show some love.

i have been pleasantly surprised by how he's changed his game, so much so that i don't even feel that PG is a need on this team anymore. Cheeks should deserve some credit, but BJ is still executing. Show some love for Brandon

Cheeks and Billups have been such a huge influence for Jennings. He does have moments where he has absolute terrible shot selection, but that can be mostly fixed and he needs to get his inside game better as well since he's almost allergic to driving.

I'm more than fine with Jennings, Smith on the otherhand, there's plethora of good reasons why he's bad for us.

Hes not perfect, i think his shot selection and decision making still needs work, but its looking like hes learning to be a floor leader. He's exceeded my expectations and hes a definite upgrade over Knight so im happy

Totally agree. I've been very pleased with him all season long. Hopefully he keeps it up.

he can still do better on D but he has hit some pretty clutch shots. and he has always been excellent at penetration and has gotten plenty of easy shots for Dre and others

With Billups and Cheeks guiding him he's been awesome this year. His shooting percentage is what it is but he find a way to get our offense going and can take over games like tonight that were previous a certain loss. Very happy with him right now

Props to Joe D for making the move

Yeah, his defense has been half way decent during this win streak. If he can keep up the D then I will be ecstatic.

he's still too sloppy for me with keeping his man in front of him but yes he has been good with steals and such. we've gotten plenty of breakaway opportunities off of that

I love this thread. Balances out the hate. I fire up RealGM, and my room heats up 10degrees with the seething hatred for Jennings from some here on the board. Like Satan's furnace.

I hated both the Smith and jennings signing. I'm still not a jennings "fan", but he's been fairly good so far.
Jennings still chucks a little too much, but he does have his moments. He's been a good distributor.
I've been pretty happy so far.
Smith on the other hand has been horrible.

Wow. I wanted to scream at him when he took some shots this game.... but then he actually made them.

Without Rose, I just realized we have the best PG in our division for the first time since Billups.

Such a great trade. No matter how much you hate the Smith signing, getting a franchise PG in Jennings for only 8 mil/yr pretty much makes this offseason a huge win no matter what happens with the other moves made.

Honestly, we probably couldn't find a better PG in the next 3 years if we tried. Not saying there aren't better ones, but none that we would ever have a chance of getting. He's been even better than I expected and I was really excited about getting him. Cheeks/Billups have done great with him.

Uhhhh Irving?

I'm just waiting for you to try and spin this to show Jennings is better than Irving...
