I was going to comment on this, the GB thread and the Meek/Blake app. thread as well. Why is it that we are the only fan base that I can think of that disrespects our own superstars so much.

how is the blake/meeks thread in any way related to disrespecting kobe? :-?

anyway, i don't think its disrespectful to discuss the possibility that the chemistry the team is riding on right now might take a step back when kobe first plays. right now the team is riding its defense, and there's no denying that kobe's return could hurt that. he was a very very poor defender last yr and now with the injury recovery, he might be worse. you also have to consider that some of these guys full of effort on defense may be affected when they stop getting the number of shots they've been used to at the start of the yr. you'd hope that offensive opportunities didn't affect defensive effort, but it happens.

team will obviously get better just from kobe's abilities, but will the role players be as into the game and as fun to watch as they've been so far? who knows

Thanks for understanding my post. Finally someone reading here with a little sense when reading others posts.
Kobe Bryant forever
GO LAKERS
8-)
I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

I wasn't talking about the thread itself but this comment seemed disrespectful though

"i wouldve hated if hed or henry or young or meeks had missed time because of kobe" You wouldn't hear that from any other fan base about their returning superstar.

The team isn't really riding it's defense either, being ranked 21 in defensive eff. and 27 in opp.. Nash has been a poor defender his entire career and has looked 10 times worse this year and it didn't effect "chemistry" at all.

Granted the team is playing hard but a lot of that can also be attributed to no one outside of Kobe, Nash Young and Sacre having a deal past this season. We picked up a team full of lottery bust and journeyman on their last legs they better be playing hard. Saying all of that the team is 10-9 and mediocre at best we need every additional boost we can get instead of pushing this idea that one of the greatest Lakers ever is going to mess up chemistry.

The only problem I had with the thread itself was the title it lacked too much Wesley Johnson. I remember someone saying that he was borderline terrible before the season.

i don't understand. riding its defense? they're 18th in defensive rating. their defense is thoroughly mediocre.

I can't think of one Mavs or Bulls fan that said I hope that Dirk or Rose don't mess things up when they come back. Or Jimmy Butler is playing so well I hope Rose's return doesn't mess with his minutes. It's ridiculous at best the fan base is split in to different regimes.

Magic guys, Kobe guys, Kareem guys, Shaq guys it never made sense to me and never will. I'm not saying worship him but at least respect the man for what he's done, especially after dragging last years lousy team to the playoffs and not being able to play a single game.

its pretty ridiculous especially coming from laker fans.

its obvious that the lakers go only as far as their defense takes them.

when it tightens up in the playoffs, we can't live and die by the 3, we also gotta tighten up ourselves

Pau

On Court - 101 pts
Off Court - 108 pts

Defensively
On Court - 109 pts
Off court - 103 pts

We are better on both sides of the ball with him off the court.

Pau didn't pass the eyeball test. He for damn sure ain't passing the data/stats
