Do you think the Bulls would do Marquis Teague for Kyle Lowry?

They seem to really hate him in Chicago, he's one of their tank commanders. The difference is he can be sent to the D-League.

There are a few trades out there that could net us assets

Toronto In - Dennis Schroder + 2014 first
Atlanta In - DeMar DeRozan

Toronto In - Perry Jones + Kendrick Perkins + 2014 first
Oklahoma City In - Tyler Hansbrough + Steve Novak

Toronto In - Carlos Boozer + 2014 Chicago Bulls first
Chicago In - Amir Johnson + Kyle Lowry

Raps Assets - 4 2014 first round picks + Ross + JV + Schroder + Perry Jones

Expiring Contracts In 2014 - Boozer + Gay + Perkins + Fields = $50m+

Rudy may well be good for tanking but ideally you would like to lose games while stil playing hard most nights and seeing improvement with the young guys. Rudy prevents that I say turf him.

I agree. Dallas might be the best (and most likely) landing spot for RG. They won't have capspace in the offseason even with Marion expiring to get a SF. Cuban might roll the dice on acquiring Gay and his contract for another season.

But Jose won't be coming back. He signed a long term contract with Dallas and even if he's traded, who plays point for them? Plus, I wouldn't even want him back. He's a good guy but his contract is horrible. In 2 seasons, he'll be one of the most overpaid point guards in the league given his age.

Take Jose out and put Wright in (who Masai had interest in in the offseason) and send them Tyler Hansbrough and a filler

Yeah because Teague sucks.

I wouldn't though. If we're trading Lowry, I'm sure we can get a better deal than for a D-Leaguer

Explain to me why Miami would want to acquire Steve Nash again? And more importantly, why would they trade Chalmers? They are back-to-back champs and Chalmers was huge for them in the playoffs last year and now you're proposing them to trade him for an oft-injured and probably near the end of his career player in Steve Nash?

Fields + Hansborough for Perkins + Lamb

Rebalances the glut in the frontcourt with:
Amir/acy
Val/Perkins.

Also gives us a nice prospect in Lamb.

OKC gets a needed point forward to pass the ball around, they don't hit the lux tax and gets them a hustling big man.

Lamb is OKC's future at the SG slot. No reason to trade him.

Plus Perkins and Fields expire next season.

If anything, OKC is probably looking for a scoring big man

Not a Raptors trade but if Portland doesn't get far in the playoffs, they might look at trading Aldridge.

He said in the offseason that he doesn't like it in Portland and will test free agency when his contract is up.

If I'm Portland's GM, I offer LeMarcus to Clips for Blake Griffin.

Good trade for both sides. Clips get a lot better and Portland gets an electric big man to put next to Lillard rather than losing LMA for nothing

For updating the salary obligations:

Patrick Patterson: $3.1M, $4.3M (QO)
Chuck Hayes: $5.7M, $5.9M
Greivis Vasquez: $2.1M, $3.2M (QO)
John Salmons: $7.6M, $7M (TO)

Incoming Salary
2013-14: $18.5M
2014-15 (assuming Salmons' option is declined and everyone else signs for QO): $13.4M

Outgoing Salary:

Rudy Gay: $17.9M, $19.3M (PO)
Quincy Acy: $788k, $915k (TO), $1.2M (TO)
Aaron Gray: $2.6M

2013-14: $22.3M
2014-15: $20.2M

Net Gains:

2013-14: about $3.8M in capspace
2014-15 (assuming both options picked up): $6.8M
2015-16: $1.2M

All salaries as per hoopshype. I'm no cap guru so feel free to correct if I'm wrong.

TBH I care about Nash getting a ring (or totally screwing the heat in the playoffs) more than I give a crap about what the Heat want or need... 8-)

keep acquiring young movable contracts... trade Novak + Hansbrough for them. 3-4 good young assets will net us a good player to pair with JV, DeMar, and Wiggins!

I wonder if Houston would want Patterson and Chuck Hayes back in a package for Asik.

Hayes, Patterson and Novak might get it done for Asik and ?Donat.

I can also see Lowry + Daye + Augustin for Hinrich + Dunleavy + Teague

Asik/Val
Amir/Hansbrough/Donat
Salmons/Fields/Dunleavy
DeRozan/Ross/Stone
Vasquez/Hinrich/Teague/Buycks

Return to Toronto Raptors
