Undersized PF, great hustle guy, high motor, extremely good in rebounding, limited offensively.

The late 1st round pick of Andre Roberson somewhat reminds me of DJ White but Roberson surely looks healthier.

Seems like a solid energy pick. I did read a few ESPN bits (some of their WARP projections), and had him rated higher than scouts had him, and right around where he was drafted. On that note, Adams projected well too.

I expected Roberson to be quicker off the floor than the highlights show based on his outrageous rebounding numbers at Colorado. Roberson seems to be more of a smart, instinctual player who is seeing the play develop early both on offense and defense. He seems to always be in good position or making a cut at just the right moment. His movements are always fluid and smooth. Roberson is athletic, he just not necessarily ultra explosive. It will be interesting to see if he develops passing abilities in his career with his intelligence.

heard the he was 12-pac defensive player of the year and can guard multiple positions

6-7 power forward does not make sense but could work out as a defensive stopper for 2 guards

I look forward this guy, his skillset is quite something I was waiting for the Thunder to look for since a long time, and I hope he can be successful.

From what I've seen Roberson's got that nose for the ball and high motor that should translate. I believe Presti called it "activity" and said they see it as an attribute. That's definitely true. It can't really be taught or coached nor can it be developed. Guys either have it or they don't and this guy has got it.

What about Grant Jerret?

Seemed to not be on our roster this year, though no news of him signing elsewhere.

Don't think he is fast enough for most NBA 2 guards. It'd be pretty rare for a guy to go from a pf in college to sg in the nba. He should be a defensive stopper at sf. 6'7 with all reports saying he plays bigger and stronger than he is. Ideally he becomes a sf version of Sef. Maybe not as good of a 3 point shooter but a better rebounder. He had ok shooting numbers from 3 in college when he primarily played pf. If he can get to around 36%+ he should be a solid 3 and d guy.

He's the new Kawhi Leonard :)
Maybe less offensive skills, but hey Leonard was a really poor 3pt shooter in college and in the NBA he is a 37% shooter from beyond.

Btw, high energy hustle players with limited offensive skills like Roberson go underrated in college and excell in the NBA many times.
See Leonard, see Kenneth Faried or even Ibaka.

So the team has him listed as a guard, but my god he's doing a good Rodman impression in the D League.

The last 2 games:

25pts 12 rebs 4 asts 3stls 2blks on 12/15 FG (held no.1 prospect Chris Douglas-Roberts to 3/15 shooting)
and
21pts 16 rebs 4stls on 9/18 FG...

Such an intriguing player, doesn't seem like he'll ever shoot well enough to stick on the perimeter, but should be fun to follow him as he tears apart the D League this year. He's also 5th in REB% and 2nd in Drating now for the season.

His 3 point shooting need to improve though. Let's hope he get comfortable doing that in the dleague.

For Roberson, three point shooting is all that matters. If he's gonna make the Thunder, he will need to be able to space the floor offensively.

From what I've seen of his shot at this point I feel like that would be like asking Perk to get a reliable 3pt shot. I think (on the upside) he's more like Kirilenko than a 3 and D SG.

Thats bad, perkins doesn't even have a reliable 2 pointer/dunk.

I guess he could improve though.

I don't think he needs to be a 3 point shooter to have a defensive role with the Thunder. Take a look at Tony Allen, terrible shooter but finds offense with cuts and hustle points. Regardless, he was a decent 3 point shooter in college so he may develop a reliable corner 3.
