the kings are pretty crafty. continue the tank this year, draft a probable franchise player in wiggins/randle/parker maybe even embiid, then have a ton of caps space opened up after 2014/2015 when gay's contract runs out.

Tons of potential but I'm not sure they're much more than that...

worst defensive starting unit by far.

How so? Malone is a good defensive coach and Gay, McLemore are really good defenders, Thomas is active and Williams too, need to be teached, but still they are athletic and fast.
Cousins is Cousins, nothing to do there.

how in the world is mclemore a good defender? are you just throwing random stuff out there?
dude allows a PER of 21

For the Raptors this had to be a dream come true. Vasquez is actually a pretty good starting guard, Patterson is not that great. But with Toronto in full tank mode, he should get a chance to put up good numbers. The fact that the Raptors didn't have to give up a pick kind of surprises me. Not to mention THEY DUMPED RUDY GAY.

For the Kings I don't get this. Really bad without Rudy Gay and his contract, still really bad with him and his contract. Maybe they think the world of Acy and Gray?

Hayes has only $1 million guaranteed next seaon if he's waive before July something... which is probably pretty likely.

That's not correct.

Yeah it's Salmons that has a partially guaranteed deal ($1 million) for next season. Toronto would save $6 million if they waive him before June 30th.

Yup. Rap fans claimin their gm got value fpr bargs and can get value for gay. And or stuckey cv was low ball offer. Apprently we offered to much

LOL, true. Raps wouldve been better off if they accepted our trade. We would've been in trouble though. Imagine if we traded for Gay and still signed Smith. It would be chuckers gallore.

I agree, but its hard to argue that this team wouldn't be better with gay. While he is a chucker, we'd be a ridiculously talented team and it would have been up to cheeks to reign them in. Especially at the price of stucks and cv

Both deals were really just looking to dump Gay's option year (~19M). Hayes is on the books for ~6M in 14/15 (the rest fall off this season) with the trade-off being a look at Vasquez and Patterson to see if they've got anything. From a Toronto perspective, CV+Stuckey vs. Sacramento's package is a wash, with very minor pros/cons to each.

I do agree the Pistons dodged a bullet with Gay though - he's a black hole on offense (which wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't so abysmally inefficient) and way overrated defensively. It's ludicrous he gets paid so much.
