Jeremy Lamb....

Post#1 » by DetroitDon15 » Mon Dec 9, 2013 4:06 pm

I have interesting idea. OKC has recently made Lamb supposedly available (http://www.foxsportsohio.com/nba/clevel ... eedID=3561) The important quote is the following: Multiple league sources have said the Oklahoma City Thunder are willing to deal second-year guard Jeremy Lamb if they can find a more experienced (and consistent) player to come off the bench. Lamb has already been traded once -- from the Rockets as part of the James Harden deal before last season.

The Pistons could use more three point shooting for sure. I thought about it and came up with a deal that might work for both sides. Detroit sends Rodney Stuckey and Josh Harrelson for Jeremy Lamb, Kendrick Perkins, and the OKC first pick. Detroit gets three point shooting while the Thunder get the "Harden type" in Stuckey. OKC has a load of bigs to replace the struggling Perkins with.

Detroit:
G Brandon Jennings/Chauncey Billups/Wil Bynum/Peyton SIva
G Jeremy Lamb/Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
F Josh Smith/Kyle Singler/Luigi Datome
F Greg Monroe/Jonas Jerebko/Tony Mitchell/Charlie Villanueva
C Andre Drummond/Kendrick Perkins

Would love to get Lamb because he can really shoot. However, I don't think he has played defense even at an average level.

I would still try to get Lamb because we need shooters.

I wouldn't mind the deal. Lamb has a great shooting stroke, and plenty of potential. Problem is- Stuckey is the better player right now. And, we're all aware that Dumars has zero concern for the future of this team. His sole concern is making this team the best it can be THIS season, as he currently doesn't have a contract extending past this summer.

If the cost for Lamb is to take on Perkins, they aren't going to find any takers.

Stuckey would be a good fit in OKC, but I'm not sure they want another guy who might leave as a FA. He would certainly fill it up off the bench with all those shooters and open lanes.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Stuckey has always been a great scorer off the bench caliber player. If all thats all they are looking for, what is there to be fooled by?

Its not like they are looking for Stuckey to start and be an all-star. He's pretty much doing now what he's always been able to do, he just was being asked to do more than he was capable of before, used as a starter. Off the bench though, he's always been able to just come in and score in bunches.

If anyone doesn't take this deal it would be the Pistons because of Perkins. And because Stuckey is flat out having a better season than Lamb, and the Pistons already have a young SG to develop.

It just doesn't make sense from the Pistons standpoint, as they are also trying to advance in the playoffs just like OKC, and could use the more experienced scorer just as much as they can.

No way for the great Kendrick Perkins. I have no idea how he's still a part of that roster. OKC is a solid center away from beating Miami IMO.

Billups would hate Joe if he traded him again. If he wanted to go to a contender, he would of went to one. Billups is retiring here. Joe's not trading Billups.

I would Love to get ahold of him for Stuckey. Another young player with potential to add to our young core.

So we want our perimeter defense to get worse?

If we can get him for Stuckey sure. Bring him off the bench as a sixth man.

I want to compete for the playoffs right now but I would still like to stay on the path of raising up a young team for the future.

Good point.
I think Marcus Thorton or Jimmer Fredette end up in OKC, both could be explosive with Westbrook and Durant drawing double teams.

Stuckey still cant shoot.. no chance they give us a young sg and a pick for him even if they're giving up Perkins too.. I wouldnt touch that deal anyways

Stuckey makes absolutely just about no sense for Oklahoma. One angle that would make some kind of sense would be a deal centered around Monroe for Lamb. I don't think a straight up swap would be fair or financially beneficial for Oklahoma, so they would somehow have to work Perkins in that deal too. In that case, we would need a filler and Jonas Jerebko works perfectly, making it a fair deal. I think I would want a pick or Perry Jones added too though.

Ideally, just for my own personal benefit, if we could unload Bynum it would be amazing. So maybe Perry Jones going to Sacramento along with Jerebko, Bynum and Fredette coming back to Detroit, and Thompson going to OKC. Overall deal

To Detroit:
Jeremy Lamb
Kendrick Perkins
Jimmer Fredette

Addresses their need for perimeter shooting while adding a big body in Perkins. Perkins could be amnestied in the off season, his contract really doesn't hurt this team. Cheeks had an opportunity to work with Lamb last season, could be something there possibly....

To Oklahoma:
Greg Monroe
Jason Thompson

Addresses their need for some much needed low post scoring.

To Sacramento:
Will Bynum
Jonas Jerebko
Perry Jones

Bynum gives them a veteran point guard off the bench, Jones gives them another guy with some kind of potential possibly, and Jerebko contract wise is better than Thompson's contract.

If only it was that easy...

I want Moose gone as much as anyone, but that isn't near enough of a return.

Return to Detroit Pistons
