Paul Coro

Bledsoe went through all of Friday’s team shootaround at EnergySolutions Arena and will come off the bench if his bruised left shin still feels good enough to go during pregame warm-ups tonight.

“I’m just excited to be back on the court,” said Bledsoe, who has been a game-time decision for six consecutive missed games in which the Suns went 3-3. “It still hurts a little bit. It’s not going to be the same as when you get out there playing and work the kinks out. It’ll probably help me to just fight through it.”

Bledsoe has been limited to treadmill work and exercises so his playing time likely will be limited initially, although Bledsoe expects competitive juices to kick in.

“I want to get out there and help my team,” Bledsoe said. “I want to get out there and play but I just have to be on the safe side too.”

Hornacek all but said that Bledsoe will play tonight. Bledsoe’s status was never optimistic going into the previous six games.

“It looked pretty good at shootaround today compared to what it has been,” Hornacek said. “We’re hopeful that maybe tonight he can go.

“He was able to go through the stuff today without limping so that was a good sign. Hopefully, when you get in the game, the adrenaline when you’re sore will let you get over that hump.”

I think he's proving that he's worthy of an extension that's in the neighborhood of what Jrue Holliday and Steph Curry got. If he keeps this up, 4 year $48 million should be a very fair offer to give Bledsoe.

Wait, whaaat? You would trade Bledsoe for Pat freakin` Beverley???

Eric Bledsoe is a stud and I`d pay him 2 mil per year more if needed.

A legit two way player, a terror on D and an emerging offensive threat. 19 ppg, 6 assists and a 22 PER... those are incredible stats. I think an extension in the 4 year 48-50 mil range is likely but if he keeps this production up then I would not blink at matching a 4 year 58 mil max.

And SF88... Beverly is OLDER than Bledsoe. That is a horrible trade idea.

If he is commanding the max, then perhaps we trade him to Houston for Patrick Beverely or trade for Beverely separately using draft picks and/or Frye. Beverely isn't as good as Bledsoe yet but Beverely is younger and plays similarly to Bledsoe. Plus Beverely was a 2nd round pick and is on a very cap friendly contract.

Wtf am I reading here.

Really? Beverly?...

Really?...

Nevermind that post lol Beverely isn't even younger than Bledsoe. I think I was thinking of someone else but then mixed it with Beverely cause they were talking about the Rockets on ESPN just now. Can't remember who I was thinking now.

BTW Beverely isn't a bad player. He's a very athletic and talented defender who has some offensive game. He's averaging 9 pts and 4 rebounds a game as the 4th option on the Rockets.

Weren't you the one that was clamoring on all Suns message boards that you wouldn't give the max to Bledsoe because PGs aren't a premium position and because not a lot of PGs make max money?

I'm not a big fan of giving Bledsoe the max simply cause I don't think he's better than Steph Curry, Tony Parker yet who aren't even making max money. (Parker isn't making max money for what a player with his years experience could make)

Bledsoe is in the same tier as Mike Conley, Ty Lawson etc so why should he get paid more than them?

*this is based on what we have seen so far from Bledsoe. If Bledsoe expands his game even more throughout the season, then of course completely different topic then.

I am a big Bledsoe fan, but I'm not a fan of overpaying him just to keep him.

No, I was posting what I thought we might offer before the season when the Suns could have extended him before the deadline. I was actually one of the people on board with giving him 4 years 40 million right off the bat!

I still think a contract in the 12 mil a year range is the most likely outcome but I have never said I would not give him the max, especially with his current production thats beyond what almost anyone envisioned, and I have never said that PGs are not a premium position. Its arguably the most important. What I did say is its the most saturated position in the league, which has been reflected in the salaries of some of the league's top PGs.

$45m over 4 is more than reasonable for a player who won't even have 100 starts under his belt when the season's up...

So you'd let him walk if someone gives him a max offer sheet and has no interest in any kind of sign and trade?

If he gets max he makes double Dragic... Not sure if McD or even Bledsoe himself can convince he's worth that.

Dragic's contract does not at all set the bar for what Bledsoe will be worth. If Bledsoe keeps up his current production he will be hitting the market as a 24 year with freakish athletic talent and coming off a season where he put up a 22 PER, with outstanding offensive and defensive ability. That was NOT the case for Dragic when he hit the market.

I realize their current production is similar but Bledsoe's 3 years younger and despite his amazing numbers still has a lot of room to grow. And if Dragic were a free agent right now does anyone think he would sign the same contract?

The people who are now jumping on the "trade Bledsoe because Dragic puts up roughly equal numbers at half the cost" wagon need to remember two things. One, teams never get full value when shipping a guy out on a sign and trade. Two, Dragic can opt out of his contract after next year and get a serious raise if he keeps up his play.
