Try to flip Jr for Rudy Gay ... Than Hire a Defensive minded Coach who can take advantage of Rudy's Length and Athleticism

JR/Amare for Rudy Gay/Novak

let me see if that works in the Trade Machine

Nobody want Amare. His contract is 20m, not 2m

We get a starting PG...

He may not look it at the moment, because this team's f'ing with him, but Shump wayyyyyyyyy better than Beverley. And Beverley is no matter PG than Felt. His only strength is tenacious perimeter defense and decent (for a little man) offensive rebounding. So Bev = Shump - 5".

Do the picks sway you at all? I was thinking one or two seconds. Both are the same kind of player, really, tenacious D with little offensive game. But he's redundant at PG with Houston and Shump's redundant here with no confidence. Win-win IMO.

It certainly wouldn't sway Morey. Morey loves second rounders, and hoards them. He thinks if he can get a Chandler Parsons every four second round picks, it's golden. The straight up trade without picks, Morey would jump at.

Bev's not a starting caliber PG, so Knicks wouldn't be getting much. The only reason Bev's starting is because Harden's a closet PG and a defensive liability, so Bev hides Harden's defensive flaws and hits a three every now and then. Shump's much more valuable then that. Shump's borderline elite perimeter defender. He's got the length to defend three different positions. He's ideal for pairing with an offensive PG (or Harden). Bev's nowhere nearly as good.

Wasn't aware Morey did that, lol. What trade for Shump would you take, with the future in mind?

None. I would keep Shump. I know it won't happen. But trading Shump precisely because he's the only tradeable asset on this team is exactly the sort of idiotic thing our management does and has been doing to our ruination. I'd trade Melo for Asik, Lin and Terrance Jones, get a real developmental coach, pick up a not-too-expensive borderline star in 2015 (not Kevin Love; maybe Milsap or Marc Gasol, depending on how TJones and Asik work out), then wait for Kevin Durant in 2016. (BTW, I think T-Jones can become a star in a couple of years.) One chip 2017-2019. Rinse, start again with Anthony Davis free agency, then Jabari Parker free agency.

it will never happen, but I'd love a Shumpert for Jeff Teague trade.

Gotta be the worst trade of the day. Raps downgrade everywhere and give up a pick?

That's the point. You guys aren't going anywhere except maybe 30-35 wins, you guys save money with this trade & suck which is a win/win. Plus you get a young player in Shump.

The pick you're giving up is looking to be in the 55th-58th range so it's really nothing at all.

I think the Knicks should look to move Felton to Dallas or OKC for a first. Addition by subtraction and a pick in the deepest draft in a Long time. We should also try to move Beno for a second round pick.

Felton to Dallas for Ledo filler and first.
Beno Aldridge to OKC for Thabeet and second.

Why don't you guys go after Stephen Jackson?

And then trade (as rumors said it) Shumpert for Asik?

Raymond Felton
Stephen Jackson
Carmelo
Stoudamire (until Chandler comes back)
Omer Asik

With Bargnani, Artest, JR, Hardaway coming off the bench. That's pretty good team to me.

Any trade that keeps Felton here is a bad one

1. Trade JR or Shump for a big who can defend and 1. Score or 2. Rebound (preferably all 3)
2. Move Amar'e out of the rotation
3. Move Murry up in the rotation
4. Profit.
And just like that, the lead has been cut to 8!

I saw on the trade board a Smith for Thompson offer. I would be interested in that.

JR Spliff for Jason Thompson + Ray McCallum. Then you can cut his idiot brother.

Even better one:

Bargnani + JR Spliff for Jason Thompson + Marcus Thornton + removal of protection on their 2014 2nd round pick to us + our 2016 2nd round pick back

I'd do that in a heartbeat.

How about expand it to:

Amare Stoudemire, Iman Shumpert, & JR

for

Jason Thompson, Marcus Thornton, Jimmer Fredette, Travis Outlaw, Sacramento's 2014 2nd round pick
