To Indiana: Kyle Lowry, Landry Fields
To Toronto: Danny Granger
Anyone think the Pacer's pull the trigger?
They add Kyle Lowry who fits like a glove in the Pacers system. He's a very cheap guard who can rebound, defend and add some much needed scoring to the team. Also, Hill hasn't been playing very well this season so he can be brought off the bench to spark the offense with Fields and Scola and give the starting spot to Lowry. Pacers also add Landry Fields who can also rebound, defend, has a high BBIQ and can allow them to rest George a little bit longer as SF is a very shallow position for them. Granger is hurt and unlikely to contribute much this season so I can't see the Pacers getting a better offer for him than a starting quality PG and a bench wing anyways. Lowry and Fields help them win now.
For Toronto, instead of fishing for a low draft pick (which are usually more of a shot in the dark anyways), I prefer to use the value that Lowry has now to offload Fields' deal. If Amir is moved, Lowry is the last tradeable positive asset we have and if Fields (or Hayes) isn't offloaded with him, it will hurt our capspace going forward. So instead of paying for Lowry in highly coveted picks, Indiana pays by taking on Fields who isn't a bad addition either. We take on Granger who is a big enough name to keep the average fan interested, will help us tank by not playing AND expires at the end of the season giving us a good amount of capspace.
Thoughts?
