Ibaka, if we didn't have Sanders and Henson. But we do, so nothing.
Ibaka would be a great fit next to Sanders, like almost perfect.

The Mayo trade I like is to Detroit for Charlie Villanueva.

Well, OKC also wouldn't do it. And while Ibaka would be close to our best best player, I don't think he's at such a tier of greatness that his addition would justify the sparseness on the wings moving forward.

Perkins has to be in any trade with Mayo to OKC, it's the contract thing... The Bucks would have to be compensated for taking on that contract.
I don't really care if it's Lamb or 1st round picks coming back in the trade.
Mayo & Udoh for Perkins, Gomez & the two 2014 1st rounders would be OK.

Mayo's contract isn't good but it's far from bad.
Exactly.
If he's still a Buck next year, the 2 years at $16M is solid.

I'm guessing Mayo has very little trade value.

This year, probably not. The next two years that's a very movable contract though.
OJ still has a valuable NBA skill in being able to create his own shot, the problem is that he's severely overpaid for the role that he would play on a contending team if we traded him there. If he were paid say $5 million per instead of 8, he'd be an incredibly valuable asset to certain teams IMO.
As of now, he provides us with relatively consistent offense, all while not putting us in position to win many games. So I'm fine with him for the remainder of this year. Wait until next year or the year after when he'll be an expiring and have more value. It will also perfectly coincide with a 3-year rebuild window.

agree..... if your defining trade value as guys on rookie deals and first round picks.
my guess is he's in the same ballpark as sanders and ersan tho. just depends on the team.

Same ballpark as Sanders? LOL, no. Maybe to a team like the Kings or something, but not to GM's with a brain.

$8 Mil/year is not a bad value for Mayo. $5 Mil/year is more of a backup type contract like a Dunleavy Jr (yes he makes a little less than that because he took a discount to play with CHI)

He has value this year, especially when taking back a truly bad contract.
With OKC, for them to turn Perkins & Gomez into Mayo & Udoh, there's some substantial value there.

Would love some of whatever you're smoking.
But I probably wouldn't accept it because it's illegal.

That's reasonable.

Re: Stein: Strong possibility Bucks active due to slow star
Who else wanted Mayo when we were trying to sign him? Who else thought he was worth $8 million. If they didn't want him then at less than $8 million why would anyone want him now? My money is on us keeping Mayo until the deal expires.
Seems like expiring contracts don't have as much value anymore. I can't recall the last time we even traded a player where the other team wanted him because he was expiring. I must be missing someone?

Which is exactly what I view OJ as, a back up type player on a contending team much like Dunleavy.
The fact that he's still young (25) and still has perceived potential caused us to slightly overpay. He's a starter on a bad team, but a valuable 6th man to other teams with established back courts.

Scrubs with expiring contracts dont have much value, but for a average player that can help with something on a team they still have value even if they are overpaid
