GSW Trade

Post#1 » by AdonalFoyle4Prez » Tue Dec 10, 2013 5:55 am

Hi guys,

GSW fan here. Would you guys trade for Lee + Barnes for Monroe + 2014 1st draft pick?

Just want to get a general feel of Monroe and what he brings to the table.

I might do Monroe for Barnes just because we are so desperate for an actual small forward. Maybe get a third team involved to take David Lee for a pick or something.

In what way is Lee's huge contract and Barnes worth Monroe and a pick in this monster draft? Not that we have one. I might do the trade just because we're desperate without a pick involved.

Monroe + CV for Barnes and Lee is more interesting.

Ive suggested this deal before (with Stuckey replacing CV) but it doesnt look as good now with David Lee playing so well to start the season

Golden State clears Lee's deal off the books but would replace it with Monroe, who is younger and less injury prone...regardless id love to that deal:

Jennings - KCP - Barnes - Lee - Drummond

Billups - Stuckey - Singler - Smith - Harrelson off the bench

If we had a 1st rounder for 2014, heck yeah I would. Lee's an all-star and Barnes has a chance to be an all-star as well.

We don't have a 2014 first but my guess would be that a combination of Stuckey and Singler would more than make up for that.

GS is now out of the playoff standings out west. So they might get desperate and start shopping someone.

Your overrating your own teams value and underrating detroits value of moose.

Since Detroit would be absorbing Lee's contract, it would look more like moose+Stuckey for lee and barnes.

GSW get the back up pg they need and good 6th man who's expiring + Moose.

Doesn't Lee play worse defense then Moose? How would this work? Would he come off the bench behind Smith? Or would Smith come off the bench?

I'm a little confused... I mean it would work out great for both teams, and its a good problem to have, but whoever did come off the bench, it would be one expensive bench player...

Truth be told, Lee is a TRBL TRBL TRBL defender, yes. But, everything else about him is rock solid. He's a walking double-double machine, VERY underrated passer, can score in a variety of ways (ambidextrous with both hands), high bball iq, a veteran leader in the lockerroom. I can see Lee being interchangeable between Smith (who'll probably play PF) and Drummond. You get some defense (Smith) and you get plenty of offense (Lee).

I don't like David Lee, so wouldn't give up a pick for him even if we had one. I would trade Monroe for Barnes as a last resort, but would rather see if we can get a more established player for him first.

I like Barnes and he has potential, but just as a straight up trade, seems like we get the short end of that one in the present. Barnes 13 ppg on 47% shooting, if that's all we needed out of our SF right now, might as well just start Singler and keep Monroe.

Barnes is already twice as good as Singler, with room to grow. Singler is a slightly better shooter, perhaps, but Barnes is better at everything else.

The "get max value for Moose" ship has sailed. Take Barnes and RUN. RUN FAST.

We would be lucky to get Barnes at this point.

Entire league knows Dumars just paid Smith 14M who plays the same position as Monroe.

Monroe has clearly regressed even if he is playing more efficiently he is not commanding doubles, calling for the ball on offense, or really playing strong proactive basketball. He is playing like a little girl.

Barnes and Lee would be the move to save Dumars job. Smith/Lee/Drummond would be very good. Barnes is just the cherry on top. Lee is 10x the player Monroe is right now and would help us win esp since we wouldnt be as dependent on him to carry the offense as Golden State is. Everyone might think Curry and Thompson carry the weight but in reality Lee is putting up 17 pts a game thats nothing to scoff at.

The only problem with Lee is the fact that he's almost a laughingstock when it comes to defense. I remember seeing a chart where literally everyone and anyone scored on him at will at high percentages.

I would just do Monroe and Barnes swap to be honest, and play Smith at the 4. We don't need more PFs since Jorts is a good backup PF anyways.

Of course I will do this trade! This will make us pretty cool. Lee knocks down mid range jumper and he handles the rock pretty well, so Smith can do his thing at the post. Barnes and KCP can share minutes at the wing positions and we will balling on defense as well!! I will give up a first round pick if I have one, if you can accept an expiring that'll be cool too lol

If you guys are willing to give up an expiring (Villanueva) + Monroe + Stuckey for Lee + Barnes + Filler (Speights), then it's a deal.
