I've been a fan since 1976. We been bad we've been great, but I can't remember the last time I've been this frustrated. :censored:

Pure garbage I'm freakin pissed now I don't see a team in the NFL that I would say the Bears are better then we must have the worst D in the NFL. The play calling sucks 3rd and 1 run right up gut come on Bozo get your head out of your a**.

2004. Which was Lovie's first year.

Record: 5-11-0, Finished 4th in NFC North Division
We ended the year 1-6 in the last seven games. We can still match this one.
NFL Season Summary

Scored 231 points (14.4/g), 32nd of 32 in the NFL.
Allowed 331 points (20.7/g), 13th.
Differential of -100 points (-6.2/g), 28th.

We rolled out 4 QB's Grossmen;Hutchinson;Krenzel and Quinn (who got sacked about every sixth pass attempt).

idk all these seasons where we have missed the playoffs ahve been pretty frustrating. Like watching a 7-1 team blow it and miss the playoffs.

For me, I'd say 2007. That was such an up and down year - ending at 8-8 or 7-9 but sweeping the Green Bay Packers but losing-sweeps to the Lions and Minnesota...

up and down--reminds me a lot of 1995 season--had to look it up but this team feels like that team
We can move the ball and score-but the defense is utter garbage.

This year the bad D is even more pronounced and more unexpected. Kept thinking the defense would pull through...

With an average defense we'd easily have 10-11 wins and be considered a true super bowl contender.

If Cutler doesn't get hurt, we would be sitting on top of this division. Likely not a superbowl contender, but still the playoffs wouldn't be in doubt. Then from there anything is possible. Just ask the New York Giants.

I think the Briggs loss hurts more than Cutler.

Hell, if Cutler sits the Lions game in the second half, we win easy.

It's not Cutty's fault that he played but man, that game and the Redskins game were big losses.

Losing to the Vikings sucked too.

This team is almost the polar opposite of Lovie's teams. All offense and no defense. I wouldn't call this the most frustrating season, but I think the Cutler era has been pretty frustrating as a whole. Every time we've gotten close, the wheels have fallen off in terms of injuries. First it was that our defense would play awesome, but our offense couldn't score enough. Now our offense scores enough, but our defense can't stop anyone.

Looking at Cutler himself, for the longest time he had no one protecting him and no one to throw to. Now he has both and he's out. It's very similar to the Bulls' situation in that every time you feel like they are about to take a step forward, they take a giant step back.
