did he finally look like the undisputed #1 pick?

Two lightning speed transition buckets, but other than that it was all half court shots, driving in the lane, caught a couple of and ones. Overall a solid comeback game, he seems to be dribbling the ball with more purpose now, I just think they need to run pnrs with him and embid

And tell Ellis to do some flare screens for Wiggy, cos everytime Wiggy catches the ball, pump fakes and tries to go right, Ellis will always be in his way like a brick in the low block, forces Wiggy to pass it back out, this happens everytime Wiggy has the ball so he and Ellis should work on their communication or have some PnR sets run thru them instead, if their plays don't work, they can swing the ball around back to Mason to create high low feed to Embild.

Yeah I notice that during the game, didn't understand why he set the pick on the right of Wiggins right near the side line, kinda of pointless when you can't run thru that pick :-?

It was nice to see Wiggins asserting himself more often in the 2nd half. I think it's pretty clear that he can make his presence felt when he needs to.

He'll get even better as he adds more muscle over the years.

Or in today's case, when the coach allows him to

There's just way too many scorers in the lineup, the ball swings around nonstop but players not moving much and not making any decisive plays, so I really think they should start Embild for his 2-way presence and have Ellis comes off the bench, that also helps minimize the traffic flow in the paint and creating more room for their slashing wings, it's not a scenario like last year where you have Mclemore spreading the floor w/ his deadly range, both Wiggy and Selden looks to attack rather than settle for long triples. In particular w/ Selden, he hasn't really touched the ball much in 2nd half, but w/ one less scorer in the lineup, Selden can be used a lot more, primarily for his playmaking ability, he's shown great chemistry w/ Embild in some sets in first couple games, why not stick to that? This doesn't mean to downsize Ellis either, he's a scorer but it's best to use that type as 6th man.

Nice to see Wiggs have a good game after his last few. Hope he keeps it up.

If Wiggins would use the jab step more to size up and read his defender he'd be scoring a lot more. On the catch he dribbles immediately too often and when he sees he can't go anywhere he picks up his dribble and restarts the offense. I don't like how he picks up his dribble sometimes.

The kid was battling the flu during his last three games prior to this one. Good showing by him none the less.

I think Self needs to change up the offense. Too many scoring options in the starting lineup. He needs to balance it with either 3 point shooting, replace Ellis with Embiid or both. It would free up both Selden and Wiggins and put the offense in their hands a bit more. The bench gets a scorer and a calming presence in Ellis.

Just came across this, an interview on thursday - he was definitely still sick here, and probably still a bit weak/ill today too, so would probably be a good idea for people to not be too hard on him for not doing too well in the 3 game Battle4Atlantis tournament.

This has been his most aggressive game so far.

And he's only going to improve from here on out. We can see he's feeling a bit more comfortable out there...in a hostile environment too. They said it was Kansas' first "real" road game. (the others were either at home or in neutral territory like chicago or the bahamas)

Can't say I'm blown away by those highlights, still not a lot of creating himself in the halfcourt

That doesn't usually come until later on in peoples careers - like when they hit the pro's, and college ball is more team oriented rather than isolation ball.

Not to say he's going to be MJ, but here's an example of 'not a lot of ceating himself in the halfcourt', and how it doesn't mean much in college:

How about a t-shirt that says "Wigging out for Wiggins"?

Wiggins with the turnover trying to shake Will Yeguete. Needs to get lower on his dribble.
