It's not like Deron was hitting a ton of difficult shots and that his efficiency was unsustainable...he was getting a lot of layups and open jumpers. He should be able to make those at a high rate consistently.

He played an excellent game tonight, let's just hope that becomes the norm and isn't the aberration we've come to expect.

The Clippers, like the Celtics, don't have anyone that can defend Lopez. And Deron usually plays well against them too. But CP3 is a whole different animal than Crawford/Bradley. We need a focused team defense to slow him down. And the Clippers have great floor spacing as well. Collison off the bench gives them speed and athleticism.

But the Clippers are dealing with injuries right now, with Barnes and Redick out. Redick especially killed us last time. Would be nice not to have to worry about him.

The key will be to keep them out of transition, limit Blake in the half court, and secure the defensive glass. I'd be totally fine if it becomes a one man show by CP3 as long as no one else goes off. I don't think they can stop us from scoring points either.

Forgot about Jamal Crawford too. He destroyed us last time too.

Deron can and should play like this every night. This is the guy we paid 98 million for.

I would LOVE to have Avery Bradley on my team though. Dude's a defensive beast, and offensively, he can drive, he can finish, and he's a good shooter. Perfect role player.

Too bad we've already given the Celtics everything we have, lol. We'd have to look into trading Deron or Lopez to get Bradley, and there's no way I'd consider doing anything like that. All of our other low end assets (Teletovic, Toko, Taylor) are exactly that: low end. They wouldn't come close to getting a guy like Bradley.

Or...AK could get **** ing healthy. I can't believe how there's been ZERO word on his status. How soon is he to coming back? FFS, he's already missed 17 games!

Deandre seems to give Lopez a lot of problems though, not really in terms of limiting Lopez's offense, but in terms of attacking Lopez's defense. He's quick, he's athletic, and he's constantly active, and that becomes an issue for Lopez. Deandre usually murders us on the offensive glass and with putbacks. Ditto with Blake. I'm hoping KG brings the same defense he brought tonight and limits Blake.

Deron vs CP3 should be fun, but I'm wondering how D-Will's ankles are going to feel after not playing for so long and then suddenly playing 37 minutes tonight.

Lopez averages 20 ppg on 60% shooting for his career against the clippers. In their last 4 games (games Jordan played starter minutes) Lopez is averaging 23 ppg on 56%.

Jordan is a bad defender despite his athleticism. He routinely gets manhandled by other Centers. Behind him they play either Ryan hollins or Byron Mullens. There's no excuse for Brook not to put up an efficient 20+ against LA.

LOL, I clearly said that Lopez's offense wasn't the problem...it was the fact that Deandre's really active on the offensive glass and that gives Lopez problems.

In 2013, Deandre averaged 12.5 ppg and 12.5 rpg (including 6.5 orpg) in less than 30 mpg against us. Lopez averaged 3.5 rpg against the Clippers, and combined, we were outrebounded 86-68 over both games.

My mistake, I misread what you wrote. But my original point still stands. Brook should have a field day versus the Clippers because their front court is terrible defensively. Hopefully he'll be more active on the glass than he was in last seasons two meetings.

Few of my observations:

- Jordan Crawford is FAST! Would love to have kept him over James, but who could have known.

- I agree with RB3, that I would like to have a guy like Bradley on our team. He is really an amazing defender and caused a lot of problems for the Nets last night, especially Livingston.

- I really would like to see Pierce continue to come off the bench, especially until he finds his stroke. Let him facilitate the offense with the second group and have him play point forward if necessary.

- Deron looked great. Brook looked great. They played B+/A- ball last night, which is what we need all the time.

- I'm ok with Brook ISOing more than any other player since he's that good and can be very dominating... but we have to set up an offense that when the double comes, our shooters are ready to fire 3s.

- JJ needs to get more involved early on. I don't think we're using him right. He's so stuck in ISO mode all the time.

- AA is great as a starter until AK gets back. He's the only person capable of starting that can run the floor with Deron.

That's most of it.... I'll post more if anything else comes to mind.

Would give anything to see a DWill v. CP3 duel with DWill outplaying him and the Nets getting a W. He needs to show he's back and he's the leader of this Nets team, and what a better player to do it against.

BTW, is it safe to say that D-Will has Avery Bradley's number? This is the 2nd game in a row that he's straight up abused him.

Yes did a good job with this and that instrumental put me in the past. I rocked out to that whole album at the gym last night.
