Markieff & Marcus Morris
I just thought of something.. The Suns have a REAL big advantage getting a cheap contract for the Morris Twins when their contract expires. Who really thinks either Morris twin would want to leave each other again by possibility signing with another team? Suns can use that against them and offer them both reasonable cheap contracts by keeping both of them in Phoenix. Suns have that in their hands.
What do you guys think?

I think they would probably be ok with getting same amount of money too. It could be helpful for negotiations.

Plus the fact that the suns went out of there way to reunite the twins has to count for something with them, I defiently want them both here long term

Re: Markieff & Marcus Morris
Meh. I'd like to think they want to stay together but they aren't worth the same price, and perhaps Marcus might want to leave where a team will make a better offer.

Reuniting the twins was probably Blanks' best move.

We aren't gonna get them if we low ball them.
I said this in the GD thread but I think we should give Markieff something like $7-$8M/yr and Marcus like $5/M yr.

I think trading Nash and Lopez and getting first round picks in return for them still rank the best. Getting Dudley on such a bargain deal was also pretty sweet.

The Gortat trade and finding Tucker was good too. Damn, Blanks was such a great GM

Every move can be offset by handing out contracts to Beasley, Brown and drafting Marshall.

I Dont wanna be here

Marcus is an MLE guy but if Kieff keeps on keepin' on he'll be in line for a substantial pay day. Still need to see this production in a bigger sample size before we get all crazy. Bledsoe is much higher on the totem pole.

That's true. Getting rid of Turkoglu was a huge positive.
Really, only bad moves by Blanks were signing Beasley, drafting Marshall and trading Dragic (the first time).

Re: Markieff & Marcus Morris
Question: Will the Suns ever start one of the twins for a full season in the future?
I see Marcus starting before Markieff although Markieff is the more talented one.
I think Marcus has the tools to be a top defender in this league. He's definitely learning from Tucker. I can see him getting the starting gig if Tucker is ever traded.

Re: Markieff & Marcus Morris
Yeah Marcus looks like he could have a long career as a BIG 3 and D guy - a team like the Spurs or OKC could use him for sure.
I think Kieff will get paid, a team needing a stretch four and some toughness will give him $30m over 4, something like that - which to me is slightly expensive...Marcus could get $20m over 4...Really, if we can get them both for $15m over 3 each, I'd be happy...They're decent players and already have GREAT chemistry and toughness, and they really seem to be benefiting from Hornacek

Re: Markieff & Marcus Morris
How crazy is it that the Morri have actually turned into solid rotation players? I'm still flummoxed.

Re: Markieff & Marcus Morris
Didnt people say Kieff was the lesser of the twins, and now he is the more valuable one?

Re: Markieff & Marcus Morris
Now one has to wonder if their new found effort and execution is because they're in a contract year, their natural course in development, or if working under Hornacek and crew has made them better.
At this point, I guess I really don't care, as long as they keep improving. I really don't want to worry about this until next offseason, but it could become an issue.
As for now, it's just great having them come off the bench and work a bit of magic here and there. It would be awesome if it happens every game consistently, but that would be nit picking.

Suns wouldn't trade them would they? They've shown a lot of improvement. I think they have to be in our future.

Re: Markieff & Marcus Morris
This isn't really their contract year, their still under contract for next season.
If they want to try and impress teams to make more money, it would make sense to just do it next season.

Nobody said that Kieff is the lesser one after they both got in the NBA.
In college, Marcus was the better one but it's been painfully obvious who the better one has been since being in the NBA.

Thanks, did not see that we also picked up our TO on them for next year.
