Re: Ersan Trade Ideas - Think hard guys (and Sanders)
Any team with any sense at all would have traded them both over the summer, right after Ersan's best season and before Sanders signed an extension. That team control 1 year before restricted free agency is a great time to get good value in a trade.
I get that you'd hate to trade a young guy like Sanders when you're rebuilding, but in the East there's too much competition for bad records. It's really hard to tank when you've got an impact player like Sanders in his 3rd year or beyond.

Yes.
Then do that Sanders for McGee/Knicks pick deal.

is this a fact that its a pick that could actually be on the market? what gives you that impression?
As I said it could possibly be on the market, Sandy Clough on the radio in Denver a few days ago mentioned that he heard the Nuggets may be open to trading it for the right deal, He does not have a history of breaking anything, but is not known to make things up.
Now what your interpretation is of that value is up for debate, in fact what the value should be is up for debate. Personally all these people talking about the Knicks only being 3 games out of the playoffs is a joke, they have won a total of 5 games this year, out of 20. Think about that for a minute, other teams are rumored and thought to be tanking, the Knicks have been trying like hell to win, what does that tell you about how good they are? Add to that they have not played a lot of the Western conference teams as of yet, and I have a hard time understanding how people think they are going to turn it around.
About half the Nuggets fans I talk to and that post on other sites around the net really have no interest in trading the pick, personally I see plenty of reasons to do it for the right player coming back. The post where I went over that is very detailed, and shows my thinking, and of course what I hope the Nuggets are thinking, but whether the Nuggets value Sanders that much, I have no idea, hell for that matter the Nuggets are usually very good at containing leaks, so not many really know what their plan is. I am really trying to gauge interest, as there are only a few players I would consider doing the deal for.

Do you think there's any truth to the rumors that the Bucks could be interested in Asik?
Chad Ford (1:15 PM)
Hope that's not true. They need to be as bad as humanly possible. It's the only way they're guaranteed to get a true star in Milwaukee. And if they could just land one elite player in the draft, I'd actually like this team a bit. They have some nice young pieces. They just don't have that go to guy.
Ben (WI)
What could the Bucks get for Larry Sanders if they were to trade him right now? Would anyone even trade for him right now?
Chad Ford (1:19 PM)
Would be pennies on the dollar. Don't think they can trade him right. Think Ersan Ilyasova is the trade bait.

Now that Kobe's back I wonder if the Lakers would give any thought to Ersan for Jodie Meeks and Chris Kaman. They still have Wes Johnson, Xavier Henry and Nick Young on the wings. Kaman is out of the rotation and Ersan is the type of stretch four D'Antonti could get some mileage out of. Jodie Meeks would return to the Bucks as the most efficient guard on the roster and save us a lot of money.

Why not just play Middleton at guard and keep Ersan? Kaveman is Gooden horrible.

Salaries don't match and what the heck would we want with Meeks and Kaman?

Two expiring contracts. I like Meeks's game and he'd be an interesting guy to pair with Middleton and Giannis in the future if he were to resign here. Kaman could give us 20 minutes a game until he falls apart and wouldn't damage the tank.

I'm just going to assume he forgot the part where he added the Lakers top 6-8 protected 1st round pick into that deal...

Curious to why guys are still so high on Larry? Sure he's a great rim protector, but he has shown no improvement in any offenseive facet of his game. Pair that with his inability to stay on the court and I don't see why you guys would be against unloading a 44 million contract for a mid first in this years draft. Henson's been showing out lately. Blocks have been way up, developing a smooth offensive game, better demanor, and rebounds have been adequate. if we're lucky enough to get an offer with a mid first for him, we should jump on it. Just remember where we drafted sanders, mid first (15th). I think we can get a better player in the draft at that same spot considering this draft is much better than that year's.

What about the Cavs? Their FO seems to have about as much of a clue as Kohl and Hammond do, and with the players they've invested money in I don't see them relenting on their playoff dreams quite yet.
Do you dangle Ersan for some sort of package involving Dion Waiters? I'd at least see how much they value him. Convince them how nice an Ersan-Bynum frontcourt would sound.

I like the thought, but I don't think the Lakers want to mess up their max cap space this offseason.

Meeks+Kaman is terrible return for Ersan. Middleton brings the same things at SG as Meeks with better length and can play next to Giannis. The Bucks are fine cap wise, but if anything try to ditch Zaza+Neal+Delfino's deals. If you are trading Ersan I want a draft pick and/or a player still on their rookie deal/restricted free agent that we can keep long term.

Yeah I dunno, it's fun to throw some things around. I take Jodie Meeks over a low first round draft pick. Obviously on board with ditching all the other contracts, including Mayo. I'd take Meeks at 3 for 12 million over Mayo at 3 for 24.

Re: Ersan Trade Ideas - Think hard guys (and Sanders)
Meeks would be an upgrade over Neal, but at this point I would just start Middleton at SG and make Mayo our 6th man since I doubt anyone is trading for him any time soon. I'd much rather have a late first than a guy like Meeks. If you hit on the pick with a guy like Jimmy Butler or Jeffery Taylor you get better D than Meeks with the efficient offense for peanuts for 4 years. If you don't hit you can not pick up their option and be fine cap wise. Meeks has hit his ceiling as solid back up with mediocre D.

Has anyone mentioned Ersan and our first round pick for ALL THE SECOND ROUND PICKS? I'm not a cap wizard so I'll let GAD figure out the details.

I was thinking Ross too but that was pre-Rudy trade. I don't think Ujiri takes back a player who will help them win and get rid of a young prospect who he just potentially made playing time for.
The second one with OKC I also like. It seems like, at least on this board, that Ersan/Perkins is becoming pretty common. If we could get Lamb from them by throwing in Udoh that'd be awesome. I'd much prefer that to their pick.
