What a horrible **** signing. Timmy was worth 2/25 at the most. 17M a year for a #4 starter. Just think about that for a second. Goodbye help in LF.

I seriously want to know how they can justify this. I heard a stat on KNBR earlier, when they were LAUGHING at even offering 2/30, hell I think Fitz said it would be insane to offer more than 2/25..but Timmy has lost MORE games combined in the last 3 years than ANY OTHER PITCHER IN THE GAME. We are paying almost 18M a year for that. Are you kidding me? The ****?

there must be some marketing factor in the equation. as terrible as he has been, he is still beloved in the city and most fans get sucked on to his quirky personality.

I think it's entirely marketing. I believe they already had tim lincecum no hitter bobble head day planned.

Giants interested in signing Brian McCann .. Isn't he a catcher? Or can he play another position too?

I like that they wanna sign a power bat, but where u gonna put this guy? 1B?

Him and Posey will probably switch off on C and 1B, with Belt going to LF.

You can't have a defensive first player at 1B if you are lacking at other positions. This team needs power, Posey isn't going to give you more than 20-25 HR a season and if Panda isn't healthy/not fat, then who else is out there to hit HRs on a regular basis? Pence and....?? Need to have some HR threats either at 1B or at least in LF.

I have no problem with it. We will miss that defense at first though.

The Gs do not get a pick coming back their way either. Advanced stats says that Timmay will head further downhill. This is a monumental Sabean blunder imho :x.

So far, Michael Morse, Tim Hudson, and re-signing Hunter Pence and Javier Lopez were awesome. Timmay and Gregor Blanco should've been gone.
