Re: Goodbye from CGC
I really appreciate all the support from all you guys! Thanks to Howard and Roc for looking into it.
DetroitDon, if this was May I would've definitely remembered. You're super active during the draft haha.
Anyways, I'll let this thread die and won't draw anymore attention to it.

Good, he's a good poster. Opinionated, unlike myself
but good. He's nothing like some trolls we come across from time to time.
Welcome back - it did bother me that there was a ban on you.

He is not a good poster and he insulted me a bunch of times and got warns for insulting me. His ban was bs so I'm glad someone did something about that.
I hope you behave better after this.

Vege,
A lot of posters have taken runs at you. You have made a lot of posts which have drawn bad reviews for bad content.

CGC - Welcome back!
I was so disappointed reading the thread until I got to the reinstatement. All good. I don't understand how some of these other mods work. A little power hungry? Small ----- syndrome? Regardless, for the Pistons board, we are pretty much self-policing. Posters feel free to take the debates to a heated and interesting level without personally attacking each other. It makes being a mod on this board easy. Thanks to everyone for this.

Re: Goodbye from CGC
I will weigh in on what happened here.
CGC was initially given a 12-hour suspension for an obvious derailing warning, and generally speaking, it would have ended there, but a permanent ban was requested because of his lengthy history as a problem poster, notably, trolling the Knicks board and personal attacks, with 3- and 7-day suspensions in his history. He had more chances than most often do, which is where the board-wide ban request came from.
Had the history not been there, then the infraction would have remained as a 12-hour suspension, as it is only CGc'a first strike under GB policy and ALL warnings from the GB come with a 12-hour suspension, per policy noted in a stickied thread on that board.
So for those of you wondering, the 12-hour was independent of the type of warning and the perma-ban request was not due to a single post, but his history and movement along the ban scale.
Most GB posters don't read the policy thread, which is the source of their surprise. There will be a refresher/reminder post up later today, additionally.
Anyway, I hope that helps clear things up.
CGC, congrats on being a good enough contributor to be brought back, but please mind your behavior off of the Pistons board as you go forward.
Cheers, and enjoy, Pistons fans.
PS - So jealous about Drummond, hate Colangelo so much... Enjoy his time on your team.

Our General NBA Forum has a very tight policy so we can keep the place in line. It is very difficult to do so with all of the different fan bases but e try our best.
I did review the ban of ComboGuardCity and decided to overturn it. I will not discuss specifics but to make the story short, CGC will be back posting on the forums today.
THX HOWARD! truly awesome and reason why RealGM is legit

this board has always been a great collection of posters, evolves in names over the years, but keeps the same attitude; glad realgm gave him some leniency
As always you have to be careful esp on other teams' boards, some mods on those boards are like small town sheriffs with an axe to grind.

Re: Goodbye from CGC
They get really heated on the GB with flame wars with insults and all that. One truly has to have thick skin to argue over there and not retaliate too aggressively. I know I have pissed off a few posters over there and them me which is why I rarely go there. Just not good discussion like on the team boards. CGC has always had some great posts and I really didn't notice bad posting here as stuff like that don't bother me anymore. Posters can call me delusional and that just keeps me going, but in a good way, hahahaha.

Re: Goodbye from CGC
Welcome back glad the ban was overturned!
Reading tsherkin's post that it was from past history of trolling the knicks board and previous bans for that?
Surely that sort of behavior deserves AND1s and not Bans?

Re: Goodbye from CGC
Well its good it was overturned. That in itself is weird, as a few of you may remember what happened a few years back when the Pistons board was one of the top 3/4 active boards. Insane how much activity there used to be here.
Until the great divide.
No action was taken then, they just let the board fracture.

Yeah when I started posting in college, this board was rocking. It had been dead of late. This situation happened in part to Joe D being a moron and lack of quality chat. I remember when this board was more than just Pistons. I miss those days.
