Neither team benefits from that trade. The Knicks literally have only have one play. They must trade Melo for first rounders and fillers.

There is no other scenario where the Knicks have any semblance of a future.
And just like that, the lead has been cut to 8!

I think Shump for Lowry is going down. Toronto wants to trade Lowry so it can tank, and nobody needs Lowry more than we do, so I can see us making the best offer.

Could be expanded to have Amare go to Toronto with us taking back some bad contracts (e.g. Fields and Novak). In that event though we need to demand Amir Johnson. But given Dolan's track record with Masai, we'll probably have to settle for Hansbrough while coughing up an unprotected future 1st in the process.

lol, no one's touching Amare's contract. Fields and Novak contracts look like steals compared to Amare.

I mean the reason they got rid of Gay was so they didn't have $20 million on their books, their not going to take on another $20 million especially from a team that has almost no draft picks to trade.

LOLZ no one in there right mind wud trade for Fields and Novak with the contracts they have... At least amare can make a impact and is off the books in another year... Its funny how this time next year almost every team in the NBA will be on the phone trying to get Amare from the knicks...

Yeah and Gay was a year longer than Amare too. Maybe a third team would take Amare? If they get rid of longer contracts, and can possibly get some production out of Amare, why not?

NY- Randolf
MEM- Jr smith, Andrea Bargnani

Mem- Are looking for a stretch 4 who could play along Gasol, and Jr who could provide them with scoring off the bench, Ed davis is deemed PF of the future so Zach mite be packing soon

NY- While not the ideal fit but wud be welcomed as a 2nd scorer and rebounder with Melo

We got rid of Novak because his contract extends a yr after Amare, and as sad as it seems a broken down Amare is still better then i got blocked by the rim Fields

How about this one: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kzzvs7q

Bos gets: Stat
Toronto gets: Shump, Humphries, NY protected 2018 1st
NY gets: Lowry, Amir Johnson, Fields, Gerald Wallace

Crunch-time line-up of:

Lowry
Jr or Felton, depending on who's hot
Melo
Johnson
Tyson

Not bad. First time in forever that more than half of our line-up would consist of 2-way players.

No he doesn't. Gay has a player option for next year which he will surely exercise similar to Amare.

And Fields contract expires the same year as Amare's does. I'd rather keep him and pay $3 million for another year of Novak then take back a washed up and overpaid Amare.

Yes, I'm sure you'll find someone to pay him $20 million for this year and next while he averages 7 points a game.

Is that what making an impact means these days?

Who said anything about trading him Tinker bell.... I said a year from now he will be 1 of the most sought of Contracts in the NBA... Why take on Novak and his extra yr when that extra money can help land a max FA in 2015

Orlando would never do that.

You guys are going to end up giving Felton + 2 out of 3 (Shump, THJ, 2018 1st rounder)

LOL...

And then give it some time and you will see that felton and lowry both fat pg's are putting up the same #'s except your fat guy is 2 years older than our fat guy. Then your GM (hopefully) will realize that all you really did in this trade is give us the 2 out of 3 and nothing more...

Trade Suggestion DEN to NYK

:D

Just shooting the breeze. Nuggs are off three days in a row, so tell me what you think of this trade. We'd have to wait until Jan. 15th, and see how every player is doing etc. but here it is.

Evan's got great passing skills, can score easily, and might be more fresh and suited to what you need right now than J.R. -while, we could use JR's shooting assuming we can do a better job coaching him.....then also you would get Andre who can def. keep things together better than Felton. Andre won't be as fast as Felton, but he's gonna hit the open man with much more precision.
