Yeah this would be the best idea. We don't have any capspace next year anyway so Fields salary wont matter to us. He expires in 2015 right in time for the 2015 free agency.

We need to keep as much young talent, assets and picks as possible

As long as it doesn't include Shumpert I'm cool with it. Not that I don't mind trading Shumpert just don't feel he's enough of an upgrade over Felton to do that. But then again what do the knicks have to trade? I believe Shumpert is a perfect fit salary wise with felton.

facts man, they are good you should try them sometimes.

The biggest disparity is with 3pt shooting is this year . Felton is @ %28 but I think his injuries have a lot to do with that. Lowry is a better 3pt shooter overall but it's a marginal better. He's not "Throw in Shumpert or a 1st rounder better". If you compare overall FG% Felton and Lowry are nearly identical.

this this this

and the other guy who said if lowry gives us 10-12 maybe 14 points a night. With good defense

he would be light years better than felton.

Lowry can actually stay in front of the guards in the NBA, felton is fat and can't.

I'd salivate at that trade. Afflalo would be perfect here...and that's why it won't happen.

He's a great defender and he became a very good offensive player too. Melo would hardly get double teamed because Aaron would make them pay each time.

He's a pitbull out there. Good defence and a good 3 point shot. He's not a playmaking PG but he brings that tough and grit that's lacking in point guards these days.

Sorry to say but doesn't seem likely we'll be making a trade with you guys. No picks and getting Shump when we already have a logjam at SG doesn't make sense.

There's only two explanations for this. Either there's a third team involved where Shump goes or Masai is using you guys to bring the value of Klow up
I think hes even a better playmaker than hes shown this year.. its impossible to be a play maker with Rudy and DD chuckin up 40 shots a game while standing around

Level headed post. That being said, you don't give up a ton of assets for Lowry.

I would say Lowry is two tiers above Felton this year. Playing with another star in Melo might make him even better too. Considering the Raptors are tanking and Lowry is one of their better assets I would say that,

Lowry

FOR

Shump
Hardaway
Felton

The Knicks and Dolan are desperate to get better. With no future picks to give up, or it being too risky (since it's 4 years down the road) I doubt they're given up. Unless Dolan makes that mistake I have a very strong feeling that this is goign to be the package.

Also remember Toronto gave up a lottery pick last year to get Lowry and trading for a worse player in Felton might justify adding two mid first rounders (TH & IS).

I'll give up Shump OR Hardaway. No chance in hell I'm giving up both.

I don't think we're considering how down right awful Felton is. Compared to other point guards in the league this year he is a scrub sporting a mighty bad TS% of 46 and a well below average PER of 11. On the other hand Lowry is at a PER of 17 and can shoot the three much better. He would also be the second best Knick on this team right away. The Knicks are desperate to show Anthony how good they are and convince him to stay, there isn't time for developing young talent.

Lowrys a good PG. If we were in a win now mode i would be heated about trading him, but i guess a felton/shump deal would work.

If we trade Shump too, I want to make it a 3 way trade and get a dude who I think deserves a legit opportunity to be a sixth man in this league:

you're rebuilding. log jams are meaningless. shump is still on a rookie contract next year. he's an asset. you might build up his value there.

fair enough, but now lets talk about the disparity of lowry's defense compared to felton's

I'm convinced we're going to try to sell them on both Shumpert and Hardaway Jr just to get Terence Ross included in the deal. He's a CAA agent.

Agreed. Shump is better than any asset than Toronto can get from GSW or BK. No reason to throw in THJ.

Do it in a heartbeat but no way Orlando would with the way Affalo has played.

Clearing money and maybe liking Hardaways potential ..... worth a try
