Shump + Felton for Lowry and let's call it a day.

TH is our SG of the future. JR is here for better or worse. Move Shump while he's still worth something.

i would rather deal with his expiring contract, than felton's contract for 2 more years

So who's our PG next year? I bet you we re-sign him. Then we will be stuck with Raymond Jr longer than we would have been stuck with Raymond Sr...

the knicks could tank then being that they would own their pick.

He's better than Felton both on offense and defense. Nobody is suggesting he's an elite pg but we can't get one of those.

But it's a marginal upgrade that doesn't make sense. It doesn't fix anything wrong with this team. All it does is deplete this team of the small trade-able assets they still have.

Huh, you don't think pg is "wrong with this team"? And it's not a marginal upgrade; would you like me to rattle off every single statistical category Lowry is dominating Felton in this season?

Listen it's well known I'm not a Felton guy but he is arguably having his worst season. Not fair to compare him this season. Compare careers.

they might keep felton and just send shump, beno, garbage.

felton is not a plus for toronto because the contract is longer.

he is. Especially because he's going to be ornery being traded from NY twice. We should make Toronto pay for greatly increasing their chances of getting Wiggins.

Sign Lowry in the offseason if you must. But he would only help our record next year which is bad (tank that year).

This should be about 2015 and amassing assets. Giving Denver a pick means absolutely nothing at this stage of the game. If anything, Denver will occupy a lottery spot that otherwise would go to an Eastern Conf team.

A man has a right to change his mind. Forget about it. Let Ray come back and see what he can do.

LOL when you mentioned moving JR I was on your bandwagon, now your abandoning me?

If they can dump JR, then yes, I do the deal. Don't think it's realistic however.

I like Lowry here more than most. But keep the 2018 pick and keep Shump. This is ALL about 2015 and Lowry will be available to sign in a few months if you want him. Just keep all pieces and wait for 2015.

I'd rather ride it out. Felton is not good but we could still make the playoffs.

I'll place a call to Mills right now ....

That's not true. He's a decent passer, and he's a good defender.

I've watched him.

He gambles a ton of defense, which makes him very poor in rotations. He also fails to run the PnR roll and really struggles to make passes into the lane. He's an improved Felton.

I've been watching him since college too. He's as good as you're going to get at PG (on defense).

Whatever you say...I've watched a lot of Raptors games these past few years. Lowry has declined drastically and his defense is inconsistent.

If we give up shump or timmy we better get a pick back or TRoss. if we give up Shump or Timmy and get nothing else back it's bad but, not horrific like we have seen in years past. If we give up both with nothing else back I quit...

But Terence Ross is.

The main piece Lowry is not. THJ is being thrown around by a writer not any source.

Trades rarely happen as they're first reported. There will be additional players included because we have no draft picks left to trade. Hardaway is better than Ross so Ujiri and Dolan will have no problem agreeing on that if it means Dolan gets to tour with some 80's band again.

hear me out....even in the knicks worse of worse years (led by curry and crawful, and nate). We still didn't get in the top 5 where the difference makers are. So at our worst we never were a big time lottery team because Dolan never believes in tanking because he wants to win as much and sell seats later.

I would rather keep shump and wait till hopefully he starts playingn better and increasing his value.

does that make any sense.

I want to see Shumpert next to Lowry. I really want to see that.

Why don't you look at TS%? The overwhelming proportion of his shots are three pointers, which is a good thing.

Don't do it, Lowry is overrated, stopped playing good D a few years ago, and has the point guard skills of a Raymond Felton. I wan't no Raymond Felton's on this team, except if it is straight up for another Raymond Felton.

Maybe their new GM wants to clean house and going all in for Wiggins/etc.

NY Trades: Amare, Shump, Hardaway, Felton
NY Receives: Derozan, Lowry, Johnson, Fields

That puts us out of 2015 unless we deal Derozan before then (which shouldn't bee too difficult). Might be worth a try to see how 'Melo can do with Chandler and the rest of the ex Raptors.... but we'd need a new coach like Thibs of JVG next season.

Lowry averages almost the exact same amount of rebounds per game over his career as Shump. Lowry averages more assists. Lowry shoots better than Shump. Lowry has been the better NBA player this year, the year before that and the year before that. You have no case.
