I don't feel like trading anymore assets. This team isn't close to a title. Any sensible organization would just want a chance to start over.

I would deal Felton and trash (to add up the salaries) for Lowry, since we actually save money long-term. But no reason to deal THJ, Shump, or picks.

felton is not a plus for toronto because the contract is longer.

You need to gather up 4,880,000 worth of salaries to get just Lowry back. Unless Felton is included, that means at least 3 other players have to be.

i didn't do the math but we do have 3 d-leaguers

Lowry averages almost the exact same amount of rebounds per game over his career as Shump. Lowry averages more assists. Lowry shoots better than Shump. Lowry has been the better NBA player this year, the year before that and the year before that. You have no case.

i have no case, but you have no clue.

you're hating on a man who's team is against him, and you want him gone for a guy who's only good in the fantasy sports world? and he'll want a pretty big contract too?

but hey lowry is going to do a much better job than felton when it comes to dumping the ball to melo and then watching him go iso.

yeah but lowry is a rental, if we are giving up shump it has to come at some cost to the raps...have to take back someone just like the bargs deal

they took back worse contracts to get a valuable piece...lowry is a rental they should have to take back felton's contract.

A. That's not true, Lowry shot over 42% 3 years ago.
B. Half of Lowry's shots are 3s, and his TS% is actually decent

Lowry's last 4 years TS%:
.550
.558
.543
.563

Shumpert's last 3 years TS%:
.484
.516
.507

There are so many things that are bad about trading Shumpert for Lowry
Pros:
-Marginal PG upgrade (upgrade at the things the Knicks are already good at like 3pt shooting and PG scoring)
Cons:
-Lose valuable trade asset
-trading a player when his value is at his lowest
-Lowry is an expiring contract, he probably isn't staying
-Lowry isn't the difference between playoffs, not worth trading for

I can go on and on, but it's stupid trades like the one being proposed that can kill a franchise.

Why don't you look at TS%? The overwhelming proportion of his shots are three pointers, which is a good thing.

Why don't we look at the actual stats and not some fantasy stat like TS%? JR Smith shoots over 50% of his career in TS%, including 52% this season.

Kyle Lowry isn't good but I'm never surprised when I see fans endorsing awful moves because they've done it before for Eddy Curry, Zach Randolph, Steve Francis, Jerome James, JR Smith, etc. This fanbase either never learns from the past or simply enjoys the abuse.

Shumpert will never average 10 ppg in his career and he hasn't played D since his rookie season. And he's mentally WEAK with fake hustle.

This is a terrible post.

Shumpert is struggling because Woodson is awful. You weren't saying this about Shumpert when he was thriving under D'Antoni.

Wow... THIS is a terrible post. When did Shumpert thrive under D'Antoni? Sans a 5 game stretch where he was scoring well, he never thrived. Do two things: look up the definition of the word "thrive" then go look at what Shumpert did under D'Antoni. You will notice they aren't similar.

And how about Shumpert, you know, actually getting better on his own? Why is it that Tim Hardaway Jr. can "thrive" under Woodson as a rookie? Doesn't Woodson hate rookies? Maybe Shumpert just isn't all that skilled or smart. He's a hustle guy that has an inflated ego.

Sign Lowry in the offseason if you must. But he would only help our record next year which is bad (tank that year).

This should be about 2015 and amassing assets. Giving Denver a pick means absolutely nothing at this stage of the game. If anything, Denver will occupy a lottery spot that otherwise would go to an Eastern Conf team.

A man has a right to change his mind. Forget about it. Let Ray come back and see what he can do.

ray is out for the rest of the month though

the knicks are focused on 2 things, making the playoffs and keeping carmelo. it's not a coincidence this happened right after the ray injury.

I don't care if Ray is out for the rest of the year...
