smdh@ the knicks front office that continues to throw away picks

giving up a pick for a rental. this will definitely force the knicks into feeling like they have to re-sign lowry.

Draft picks are like toilet paper to this organization.

Difference between Hill and Lowry for this team is Lowry can get buckets when defenses get up on Melo, Hill is nice but he's basically a Pablo type of PG with more athleticism, with less ability to run an offense

Because you can count on Hill to make the right play and to get the ball where it needs to be. I think just the way Hill carries himself on the floor would demand more respect from Anthony. Hill in a lot of ways reminds of Billups... Lowry doesn't.

You know it isn't all about percentages and stats and things like that. Sometimes it's about actually watching the two guys play.

Hill is one of the worst entry passers I've ever seen. They lost the series versus Miami in 2012 because they couldn't pass it in the post.

 What? Miami's number one modus operandi is to make it as hard as possible to dump it down low because they have no size. And guess who is doing the denying? I hear those two guys are pretty good.

But if you want to give Miami no credit and if you think Lowry would have done a better job then that's on you.

I don't agree with what you're saying... but link me to some video of Lowry making better entry passes than Hill against Miami in the playoffs and I'll give it a look.

Everyone who bitched and moaned about giving up a 1st in the Bargnani deal better HATE this trade if we are including our 2018 pick, protected or not...

And those who justified the deal because of a marginal improvement and shedding Novak's salary in 2015, better sharpen their debate skills on defending this one...hopefully with better reasoning than just shedding Felton's 2015 contract as well.

WE SHOULD BE ACQUIRING ASSETS...NOT GIVING THEM AWAY!!!

For a player that expires at the end of the season. In 2018 we are gonna fug in here about how we don't have a pick. Remember that season we had Lowry for 5 months. Gawd.

A pick for a 4 month rental? This organization hands out unprotected picks like candy at Halloween.

You would think not having a draft pick this year in a draft that might be the best in the past decade would teach the FO a lesson...NOPE

He made Denver better by getting rid of Melo while he had no leverage, and Denver is sitting pretty for a good pick. Toronto got rid of Bargs for a pick. Ray Felton is irrelevant in this equation, as he was only a piece in both deals. He works for their tank, anyhow.

You're being too simple minded here, look at the whole picture, and not just Ray Feltons value as a player.

He ended up getting a good deal for Melo but it was still Melo -- you make like he was trading Rudy Gay or Marcin Gortat. Ainge got more for two old men.

Sure the Knicks had stars in their eyes and overpaid. But Melo is Melo. And he had the new CBA and the Nets. I'm not going to give him much credit. Knicks have overpaid since the dawn of time, Melo is a huge name, and Masai still hasn't added a single great player to any roster ... so at best he gets an incomplete.

Knicks eke into the playoffs this year, and his Denver return is nothing special. Chandler, Gallo (now on $10M which is a crap contract), Felton, Mozgov ... all a big bunch of nothing (which is why the picks were included). You can sign all those guys they got on the market with not that much competition. No need to trade for them.

They either get a stud in the draft or they got nothing much.

The best thing about that team is Lawson and I don't think Masai drafted him.

Why do we hire these people with no type of sense when it comes to basketball,,, NO MORE PICKS...Can someone tell dolan his money can cure DUMB,,,
J.R. Smith's last-second whiff left the Knicks with a sixth straight loss. But J.R. would do it again. "I think we went with the best shot," he said.

Excited to see if playing alongside a competent PG can get Shump going. And Lowry-Shump would be a great defensive backcourt.

why can't we stop trading picks for average players?? if the knicks are willing to throw away picks, why not make another "melo" like trade for, ya know, a GOOD player?? SMH lowry is not worth a starting PG with similar stats AND a 1st round pick..come on, has dude ever played a playoff game in his life?
