I still believe Henson is and can play the PF position full-time next to Sanders or Asik. I want no part of this deal because it makes zero sense to have Larry & Asik on our roster together since they are both clearly Centers who can't play next to each other.

The Bucks and Rockets are just terrible trade partners, period.

Yea, Jones has been great and they have three PG's getting minutes.

That said, Udoh would give them a defensive minded backup center, Ersan is high quality depth, and Wolters would be simply an asset.

Seems like a weird move from the Bucks' standpoint to make if you want to win more games this year. While I like Asik, I don't really see how he makes us any better.

Jus read what BuckPack posted in the Stein thread, now I'm even more confused about this. This trade doesn't make any sense really. Which is typical because this organization doesn't make sense in general

I think the evidence is strong that the organization is just really terrible at evaluating NBA level talent.

So they can trade Jeremy Lamb for what? Ersan Ilyasova?

Most likely. If we continue to crash and burn it would potentially end up being a pretty good trade for us. If we end up with a guy like Wiggins, then a front court of Giannis - Henson - Asik could potentially be pretty formidable with Wiggins at the 2... especially if you flipped Sanders for a legit PG.

With Ersan's injury and usual slow start, it makes us better for like a week or two until Sanders gets back. Then it makes us worse the rest of the year. So yeah, it makes no sense if the team's goal is to compete this year. Par for the course.

This really seems like an offer made by Morey, so I don't blame the FO for at least discussing it. But there's zero chance that this proposed deal goes through without another move being made simultaneously.

What?

I'm saying they'd have no use for most of the prospects they could get for Asik (compared to Ersan) and I really don't think say the value of Lamb/Perkins is more valuable then Ersan/Wolters/Udoh.

There is a reason why I posted this. If it gets to the level of me actually posting it there have been more than just "hey are you interested in doing this" convo's going on. My thought is the same process as "save our Bucks". Hopefully the backlash ends the idiocy of this regime. Personally I dont care for the NBA and have zero vested interest in the Bucks outside of comp'd gifts from colleagues or the team.

I posted this for RealGM to do what it does. Cause **** uproar on 4th street.

They actually want picks for Asik. It seems they don't need immediate production.

Max, you may think this...BUT...it doesn't really hold up to scrutiny. Nothing about their games are really compatible - not when we've watched them play in the past and not statistically either. And, if anything, given Henson's growth in such a short period of time as a Center, it should be clear we have 2 Centers on our hands. Either we should keep them both - start one and use the other in a rotation. OR, we should consider trading one and devoting resources elsewhere.

At present, I'm in favor of holding onto both of them. And, this is why I hold such disdain for this deal. Our FO has never demonstrated a plan of forward-thinking. I just have no faith they see the roster in a sensible way. There is no point in keeping Asik if they have no intentions of moving either Henson or Sanders. Neither are 4's. And, I just don't trust the FO to move any of the three. They've earned this mistrust with the way they've accumulate 4's and 5's in the past.

The picks (especially if they were thinking lotto) would be more valuable then a Lamb or Ersan package though. Morey to me is a guy who just wants to get value out of a trade. I feel like he'd take the more immediate impact if the values are similar, especially the way the roster is built now.

The one wild card being how invested they are in the 2015 free agency, where they could have max, or near max, cap space if they play their cards right.

If you think Henson is a center, it's a waste of an Asset holding on to both him & Larry. Henson is already a solid passer, with a good post-game and is still developing his mid-range jumper. He & Larry/Asik can play together.

Yeah I'm surprised Houston isn't trying to clear Asik+Lin's salary to go after Bosh

And If thats true and the the cap hit for Asik is 8 mil per as far as luxury tax instead of 15 then how did the Rockets get the 5 mil salary cap figure this offseason instead of the 8 mil one as far as freeing up cap to sign Dwight?

And if the 15 mil to be paid in slalary is isn't counting 15 mil towards the cap in the last season but instead only 8 how is it even considered a poisen pill contract? I thought the reason the bulls didnt match the offer was cuz they didnt want to have to deal with the luxury tax implications in the third and final deal, if that's now how it's works then wouldn't they have just matched the offer? This makes no sense to me whatsoever...

It only counted as 15 in the final year for Chicago/NY for Asik/Lin respectively due to the Arenas provision. For those two teams, matching the deal at the time meant the cap hit would have matched the salary payment schedule. But now for Houston and subsequent trade partners, the cap hit is 25 mil spread out over 3 years .

Thank u for correcting my ignorance, I mean that. Btw, what a terrible, stupid rule. It actually encourages teams to sign players to poison pill contracts because that rule actually makes those contracts more palatable in trades after they are signed. God the NBA has a terrible contract rules (still better than baseball though, but that's not saying ANYTHING lol)
