We'd have a ton of cap space for 2015, plus some assets(if we were to get something for Melo and Chandler). To me that's a start. But in reality, Dolan would never commit to a plan like that because he just renovated the Garden and needs to put butts in the seats. It's too ballsy for him to even consider. Plus he would basically be conceding that the Melo plan was a failure.

BTW Smith shouldn't be starting for any NBA team. Smith blows and is a complete headache both on and off the court. Don't let his SMOTY award fool you. He's regressed badly this year and is back to his same old habits and tricks.

You went through a tough rebuilding to make it to the second round once. Dolan is not doing that again. If he can play Indiana in the second round again, he will take his chances. And Smith would be different player in a different system (small ball) and in winning situation.

Like I said, Dolan would never consider such a plan. He's too short sighted and stupid.

Smith is a headcase. Woodson had him under control for a while, but he's regressed badly again. It's not about the system, but about how mentally fragile he is. Plus his overall IQ for the game sucks. I don't even think Pop would be able to help him grow as a player. Actually Pop would bench his ass completely if he tried any of his antics out in SA.

With how stacked the West is, it is very possible

But they aren't in the lotto now and will get out first this year which should be good. And I assume you think we also will be in the lottery as well in 2016, right? You should reconsider what likely means and go back to your board

I see nothing wrong with adding to the discussion

But to your point, without a legit star I can see the Nuggets falling behind other teams in the West as they continue to improve. I guess this star could come your pick but I see you improving once Chandler comes back and possibly even making the playoffs in the LEastern conference. I do think that you will be in the lottery at that point b/c it seems like the odds of Carmelo staying are relatively low at this point

not at all  in fact, im pretty lenient when it comes to suspensions/bans/etc. i just dont like people that come here to start problems / post in a condescending tone.

also, this isnt on my linkedin  going to an elite school taught me a lot and helped me get solid internship positions that i have put on my LI profile and resume. nice attempt at making a slight, though.

They're basically the same player anyway, Feltonis just disgustingly bad when he's injured and he's always injured half the season.

:-?

What would you rather do? Lose Lowery for nothing or take back felton for two more years? We will have to pay to get lowry AND move felton.

In that case then Ujiri is just making a poor move trading away an expiring in order to make the team win less.

Why would a rebuilding team want to trade a contact coming off the books for 2 more years for basically the same player.

None of these trade propsals makes sense, lateral moves.

And to the guy that listed all the other "options". When did Nets scrubs become equal players to Shump and Felton???

For the raps its simple. Get an asset for lowry. Felton is not a asset. He is a long term cap filler burden.

So we must give an asset for lowry and an asset for moving felton. Add MWP now,... and we are asking the raps to take salary off our hands while giving us the better player. A slightly better player who is much more reliable. But is also due a contract.

Knicks need to ditch the grass is greener approach. How much are you really willing to pay to get a mle level player early? Knicks need to be very careful here.

Wait until the 15th

Knicks trade: JR Smith and Felton
Knicks get: Lowry

I can't see us giving up more.

Who else is going to trade assests for a rental in Lowry. He isn't a superstar or all-star but he is a solid pg. Knicks need his ability to create his own shot, push the ball, penetrate and finish at the god damn basket. Seems like we never get a lay up now a days.

Agreed.

Felton and JR for Lowry. That should be the final offer.

Other wise sign Lowry for 5 year /30 over the summer.

Can see is far different from likely. Denver is young and shouldn't be in the lotto at that point and haven't been in years. Knicks will spend all their cap space after 2015 and will at least be a treadmill.

If we do get him let's say for SHUMPERT and ray, and he has a good season and help turn things around can we keep him long term or is it gonna mess up our cap moving forward?
